Trouble

After killing what had to be his 60th Demon Spawn, Alex frowns. "Something is wrong. There shouldn't be this many Demon Spawns in one place. Not without a major incident happening here first."

"Then what do you suggest we do?" Amelia asks before shooting another Mana Bolt into the crowd of half a dozen demons. Unlike when they first started, it had leveled up quite a bit from the fight and packed quite the punch. Before it could barely put a dent into the Demon Spawn's health but now it only takes half a dozen Mana Bolts to kill one of them.

"Keep a lookout for anything unnatural in the area. Inform me if you see anything that doesn't look like demons or just part of the surrounding." Alex tells her. It's the only thing they can do now. As much as he would like to find out what's causing so many demons to spawn, he doesn't have the means to do it currently.

Amelia nods in understanding before going back to shooting the Demon Spawns. Alex had to admit that he was glad he brought her along. Without her endlessly regenerating Mana and Mana Bolt, he would have been cornered long ago by the Demons.

"A quest?" He did hear Ameli talk about them before but this is the first time he sees it. "Seems easy enough. I'll weaken the Demon Spawns, you finish them off."

With that, they set off to work again. This time Alex took a more active approach since Amelia can protect herself better now. In just half an hour, they managed to kill 20 more Demon Spawns. Despite that, there seems to be no end in sight as the Demons keep spawning endlessly.

Alex's frown depends, 'With this many Demon Spawns, a Lesser Demon should have been created already.'

He cuts a few more demons for Amelia to finish off with Mana Bolt.

"Alex, what do you think I should get?" Amelia asks, staring at her upgrade options.

Alex only took a glance at it before returning his focus to the demons in front of him. "It's your power, you pick what you want to do." Alex calls back.

"Right," Amelia takes a second to ponder about it before clicking Mana Bolt Barrage. With the waves of demons they were dealing with, it sounds like the best option for now.
