Tritera teaches you

Tritera is using some kind of spell or tool to make her voice boom out so that all over two hundred plus first years can hear her.

Tritera : "Hello recruits! Welcome to your first day of training. By now I'm sure you've all had the experience of casting a few spells that you are specialized in. Specialized spells come to you naturally. General magic isn't so easy, each of you will cast general spells a little differently, this is based on the unique magical resonances of your bodies. In the future you will be broken up into smaller groups and I will personally teach you generic telekinesis magic, or for a few of you advanced telekinesis magic. But today I'm here to teach you a basic skill that will be indispensable while learning any type of generic magic. I want each of you to find a partner and have one staff between you, I have a pile of loner staffs up here if you need one."

You look to your companions and Alicia steps up to you while Trilia and Amber pair off. You and Amber follow the group to the front to get a staff from the big pile in front of Tritera. Tritera waves at you as you pick up an appealingly smooth length of wood and find some space on the grass. Once everyone is paired off and equipped Tritera continues.

Tritera : "Ok, now both of you hold on to the staff at the same time while one of you casts a simple spell from your specialty, nothing too fancy or dangerous. While your partner is casting I want you to focus on the staff. You should be able to feel the magic strongly vibrating inside the staff and if you focus you should find the part of your body that you need to engage to cast a spell from that school yourself. I don't expect you to be able to cast each other's generic spells today but you should come away with a better feeling for your own magical energies."

You turn to Alicia.

Jessica : "I guess I'll go first with elemental magic"

You both grasp the staff.

Alicia : "Ok, I'm ready"

You focus and create a small flame in your palm. You look at Alicia who is concentrating hard on the staff.

Alicia : "I think I can feel something but I'm not sure. A kind of tingle. Here you try."

You put your flame out and hold tightly onto the staff as Alicia floats a nearby rock in front of you. You can definitely feel something vibrating in the staff although it remains perfectly still. You search your body, still not totally familiar with all the bends and curves, looking for any part that is in resonance with the hunk of wood. You felt something in your shoulder that might have been your imagination.
