„What?“ you ask in your best faked confusion, „why are you calling me that? Monster? I’m just a druid student.“

„Liar!“ Valeria screams but sounds confused, „I know you are a dark druid. You betrayed your holy order and serve the worst of evil beings. Your demon-masters will not save you!“

„I have no idea what you are talking about,“ you say innocent, „and it hurts me that you accuse me of such horrible things. I’m just a student. I observe the natural balance in this forest and watch out for dangers that would disturb it.“

„You … you are?“ Valeria asks with wide eyes, „oh goddess, I’m so sorry. I … I thought you were a dark druid. Please forgive me. I don’t know what to say.“

„I guess it’s fine,“ you say and try to sound still hurt, „but be careful for what you accuse people in future.“

„Yes, I’m sorry,“ Valeria says shy, „ is there anything I can do to help you? I will do whatever I can to help people.“

„Now that you mention it, there is something,“ you lie „giant rats reproduce very fast in the last months and lately they stole food from my hut. If you kill … let’s say ten of them and bring me their tails I will reward you.“

„Oh, that’s great,“ the naive paladin says cheerful, „I already have around twenty tails from this beats. You can have them all.“

Of course she has. Giant rats are weakest of all monsters. Even you could defeat one or two without any problems. A paladin should normally know this, but you hardly believe this newbie payed attention to theories in training. Every hero kills a dozen of these creatures within the first ten minutes of his career. It’s the nightmare of every merchant when a hero sells all the shit he got from monsters.

„You have my thanks, brave paladin,“ you say and give your best to not start laughing while you pull out a bottle with a blue liquid, „for your reward I have this magic potion which increases your strength permanently.“

„Yes, I solved my first quest,“ Valeria cheers and takes the potion, „and it increases my strength permanently? That’s cool.“

Naive as she is, Valeria immediately drinks the whole bottle. Of course there is no permanent strength increaser in the bottle. Potions which increase strength, intelligence or such things permanent are not just extremely complicated, they also need very rare ingredients. And in the dark forest, there is nothing you need.

„Hey, I really feel something changing,“ Valeria says but looks exhausted, „but… I’m a little … tired … right … now. Is … that … nor…mal?“

Without waiting for an answer Valeria falls down. Her metal armor makes a lot of noise when she lands in front of your feet. The sleeping-poition kicked in very fast. You shake your head about what silly girls they make heroes these days. Then you go to work. She should sleep for quite some time and you plan to have a lot of fun with her.
