Kurvannug felt even sicker than last time: she had cousins and aunts in Buglachvag, now it seemed not only was she an orphan, but without family of any kind. But hope springs eternal: Perhaps some of her kin had escaped, like those of her own band? "We must search these ruins for supplies and survivors!" Kurvannug ordered, and everyone set about the task.

The group scoured the ruins and surrounding areas, locating nine ordianry beleaguered survivors, twelve young children, and six more individuals of greater significance. As it turned out, eight of those people WERE Kurvannug's kin, her aunt Vagmogvok, (a Sorceress of limited skill,) her three adult children and four young children who all fled the butchery of Buglachvag's destruction with her. Kurvannug's heart was filled with gladness at the reunion with her aunt, for it meant she was not truely alone in the world!

Among the other survivors was a female ogre mercenary named Gravgord, who seemed to know Borgol and not be on especially good terms with him.

There also was a Wyrmling Red Dragon who called himself 'Flame' and his two Dragonborn guards, 'Thunder' and 'Lightning'. The three of them agreed to sign on with the band for food and shelter, but only if no one tried to steal from 'Flames' hoard.

Next was a dumpy and unassuming goblin called Bustil. She had been a **** but only agreed to join the group when she was promised freedom for herself and her five children. (Two adults and 3 minors.) As it turned out she was an accomplished scout and Assassin, but had been captured in a raid and enchanted to enforce her loyalty: except that when her owner died through no fault of her own, the spell had been broken.

Searching the ruins turned up enough food and potable liquids for the whole band for 13 days if they rationed tightly. Everyone was going to be carrying almost as much weight as they possibly could and still march.

They also turned up some peculiar items.

One was a strange metalic rod which when you pushed a switch on it projected a blue glowing blade of **** out to three feet. However, it wouldn't work for just anyone, in fact the only people who seemed to be able to use it were Kurvannug and 'Flames' minions.

The other was an enchanted scroll, no one knew what it did, but it was covered in Elven runes that glowed a faint orange.

More mundane items were also found. First there was 5 tents, 1 of which was a large pavilion that could sleep 10 in a pinch, if they were willing to be very cozy... Second was 12 assorted Stone, Wood, and Bone weapons, three Stone spears, two bows with 20 Flint Arrows each, two boxes of 20 balls of granite shaped and polished for firing from a sling, (All one needs for the sling itself is a strip of cloth or leather.) Three Stone axes, a pick made of antler, and lastly an Obsidian edged 'sword'. There were an equal number of suits of primitive armor, 4 quilted cloth, 3 flexible Leather, 2 Tough hide from a large beast such as an elephant, 2 of carved wooden scales, and 1 suit of half plate shaped from the chitin of some enormous insect.

The survivors of Buglachvag's destruction readily agreed to Kurvannug being leader of the combined tribe: all save 'Flame' who grudgingly said he would treat her as his equal, and shortly they set out...
