Travelling to class!

{if@ Gammod == False}Good lunch! Quick lunch, good lunch, fun lunch! But now it is ended, and the long good fun classes must begin, whatever they may be. But for the first time all week, you're going into a class fully knowing that your entire class will be there, which will make it feel like a quick good fun class. So hurry!

You meet up with Jace and Delilah as you weave through the halls, who spent most of lunch together in their room like they do on most days. Delilah is naturally a bit iffy about your presence, but Jace is very welcoming, and Delilah doesn't do anything to physically or emotionally **** you to leave. So this is the crew that you travel with to the room you're all scheduled to be in.

{endif}"I've been totally loving the recent practical stuff in Combat Class." Jace says. "I was sorta worried we'd be mostly bogged down in theory."

"Agreed." Delilah says, pleasantly. "I suppose we shouldn't expect any less from the greatest Warrior university around, though."

"Yeah." You add softly, kicking the carpet as the three of you walk. "Monster Theory and First Aid and stuff are really hard to follow sometimes."

"Ugh, that wasn't what we meant." Delilah spits venomously. "Maybe it's difficult for you, but for J and I-"

"WHAT Dellie means-" Jace interjects. "-is that she's just really glad we didn't get stuck with bad teachers."

Delilah looks like she wants to disagree, but keeps it to herself. It is good to see that that is something she can do.

"Delilah was telling me the other day that Professor Phoebe is the best Combat teacher in the school, period. And we get to have her be ours for all three of our years here. We got really lucky."

"Yes." Delilah muses. "It's not often that a fantastic Warrior is skilled as a mentor, and even less common for them to make time for mentoring the next generation. Far too often it's the ones that couldn't make the cut as Warriors who fall back on teaching with no real passion or talent at it. The ones who choose it when they could have chosen almost anything are the ones at the top of the heap."

Yeah, that sort of makes sense, even if you naturally want to disagree with Delilah. You don't know much about the other Combat teachers at Coinpilfer University, but from what you've seen of Professor Phoebe she's definitely good at what she does. And good at making other people good, too.{if Sorority == True} It's too bad her and the Sorority don't get on, they could probably do awesome stuff together....{endif}

"So was Professor Phoebe a Warrior before, then?" You ask. "I know teachers normally are, but she's so young and seems so experienced with teaching, I didn't know if she had the time before it."

Delilah looks like she's about to snap at you, but Jace gives her a look, and she huffs out an annoyed puff through her nose before taking a deep breath and starting to speak in an irritated tone, instead of an outright assaulting one. Jace is a real one.

"Yes, Debbie. Professor Phoebe was a Warrior before becoming a teacher." Delilah says through her teeth. "One of the most decorated and under-reported Warriors, because most of her missions were based around making advances through the island instead of defending Kokkinport when it was under attack. As such, there isn't much known about what she was doing, since nobody was around to see it. But when she did fight in defence of the city, she was essentially peerless. Entire sections of broken wall would be designated for her to defend alone, while the others fought together at different breaches."

"How come you know so much about her?" You ask.

"I-" Delilah pauses, and considers. She looks to Jace for a second, but he looks like he's interested in the answer as well. Delilah finally just answers with a shrug. "I guess I just pay better attention than some people."

Wow, rude. Well, if she's right, then you really are lucky. As you already know, Combat teachers only teach one class each, unlike teachers of other subjects, given how much focus there is on Combat training at Warrior schools. Whatever teacher you get follows you all the way through your education until you graduate, then starts with a new first-year class the next year after that. Everyone in the whole school has Rhys Meddle for Equipment Maintenance class, but only you six have Professor Phoebe for combat class.

"What was her Warrior partner like?" You ask, now quite excited to learn more about how cool your mentor is. Unfortunately, before Delilah can answer, the three of you have already made it to the outside door of your combat classroom. Fooey, you'll just have to find out more later.

Jace pushes the door open, and each of you head to your normal desk positions (you in the front right, Delilah and Jace in the back left). Cameron's already here in his seat two down from you, and Professor Phoebe's preparing something at the front, so after returning a quick greeting to her you just set down your bag and wait for Lexi and Miranda to arrive.

You really are lucky, though. So far you've gotten on pretty well with all of your teachers, and one of them is even your childhood best friend! Even if his subject is really difficult. You're totally on the right track to becoming the best Warrior of all time!
