Today's a school day.

"So you ready to go?" Asked Timmy.

"Go?" Asked Jim.

"I take you aren't. Dude, it's Monday."

Bells went off in Jim's head.

"What time is it?"

"Dude, the bus is coming in, like, five minutes."

Jim barely heard the whole sentence as he suddenly ran back to his room, desperately found and stuffed his books into his backpack sitting in the rocking-chair in the corner of his room. Feeling lucky that he had himself changed already, Jim dug through one of his shelves and pulled-out a pair of denim shortails that he slipped-on, adjusting the suspenders over his shoulders as he pulled out a pair of socks.

While Jim and Timmy were in college, they did everything online. The "school" they attended in-person was a community project: an ABDL daycare program publicly and privately funded to simulate the grade-school experience. While it had private tutors and internet access, it was essentially a babysitting program for adults

He ran across the living rooms, looking for his tennis shoes as his mom and Timothy simply stood there, watching Jim search frantically while also trying to put his socks on.

"Honey, I could give you both a lift to school if you want."
