Chapter 90 by Felix715 Felix715

How do you spend the last half of the day?

To your room.

Wandering the halls of the academy for a bit gives you time to think without the raucous of the dining hall or the common room of your house.

Knowing you have plans to spend tomorrow with your friends, you consider your classes next week. You still had a little reading on fairies to finish up your assignment from Professor Greymouse. Fortunately, she didn't ask you to write a paper this time. Professor Sloss did ask everyone to work on their illusions and you could use the practice. You still need to craft something for alchemy class as well. Maybe it would be best if you went back to your room to keep up with your work. Who knows how much time you will have tomorrow.

You take the next turn to head in the direction of House Phoenix and find yourself in a corridor you haven't seen before. A single floor where the stone walls give way to dark wood and large portraits of previous Head Masters on either side of you decorate its length. Examining them as you pass, you notice all but one, Roberto Disim, came from one of the four major houses of Ashcroft, Hellgrave, Kyries, and Eldric. Despite the length of the hallway, only three wooden doors are found on the eastern wall. The first two doors are adorned with golden plaques that read Dean of Students and Headmaster. The final door is strangely unmarked but a faded section of the wood shows where a similar plaque once hung.

Curious, you consider knocking on the unmarked door but decide against possibly interrupting someone's day. What would you even say to them? So you continue into the next hallway and out into the courtyard towards your house.

Entering House Phoenix, you make your way to the second floor and your room. The history of sex magic book still resting on the desk, open to the chapter on fairies while Pharos naps in his nest atop your wardrobe.

"Got to start somewhere." You sigh before taking a seat.

You soon finish the reading assignment and spend the next few hours working on your illusions. Weaving the light like a painter as Harmony instructed, paying extra attention to the book's details and dimensions. With practice and remembering your tutoring, the creation of your illusionary tome is less difficult and frustrating than before but maintaining it is still tricky. About five minutes being your best before the image begins to fade.

"I might actually be getting the hang of this." You smile to yourself before deciding to take a break from illusions.

The only thing left is the alchemy project assigned by Professor Schwartz. He didn't set any clear guidelines, only that he wanted something as complicated and detailed as possible. Reaching into your bag, you pull out the golden bar you created in the last class and place it on the desk. You stare at its shiny surface while trying to think of what you could create with it.

What do you attempt?
