How do the sailors react?

To waking? Fine....

Chapter 15 by JackSimth

Not wanting to get lost, you simply hang sround the bridge... and try to think. The zillion miles of water and nothing to do gives you plenty of time for that. And when the first mate finally stirs... you still don't know what to say, so you put it off, starting with, "How are you feeling?"

He frowns, "No hangover?" Then smiles, "I guess that was some really good booze, then..." he stands up, stretching. "Ooh, I needed that..." and looks around, frowning: "Oh, cleanup." He pauses, and smiles, "Worth it." The man looks at you, "Thank you for that... how long was I out?"

"Sixteen hours..." you shrug, still naked, "...and I didn't want to get lost, so just stayed here." You notice his meat rod is starting to get hard again.

He chooses to ignore it, instead walking over to some consoles and reading them, "Well... we're on course at least. Ugh. I'll need to coordinate with the captain on what we put in the logs..." he chuckles, "...but we did have someone on the bridge at all times, at least." He shakes his head, letting everyone rest while he looks around for his clothes, finds them, and starts getting dressed. As he does, he asks a reasonable question, "Do you have anything to wear?"

You shake your head, "Just the bathrobe I came in..." you look around, not finding it.

He pauses, removes his half-donned shirt, and tosses it to you, "Best I can do at the moment. We'll have to see what Stewart can figure out..." First Mate John Big rubs his chin, then gets his socks and shoes on.

You put the shirt on... it fits more like a short dress, although you need to roll up the sleeves to use your hands, "Thank you. Umm... how long until we reach port?"

The first mate glances at one of his displays, "Not long, about two weeks."

That draws you up short, "How is two weeks, 'not long'?"

He chuckles, staring out at the water, regularly lookong at his instruments, "Perspective. We're at sea for months at a time. Ships are the most cost-efficient international shipping, but they're not very fast."

And at this time tomorrow, nine of you are going to match your passports. "Ah." You consider, "...what is there to do aboard ship?"

"Rec room has a boatload - pun absolutely intended - of shows and movies on disk. We also have a gym, and a couple of the crewmen have console game systems they regularly share... plus phones and laptops, of course, but we don't have a good net connection, and it's reserved for business use anyway due to the expenses related to those satellites." The first mate shrugs, "I'd show you, but the rule about needing the bridge manned is a practical issue of safety. Next guy that wakes up gets that privilege."

You nod slowly, "Okay. Umm... once everyone is awake... I have some mixed news to share. And I... really don't want to go over it multiple times." Especially not the demo that's bound to be required.

The man frowns, you can see it in the reflection in the glass, "It can't be that bad."

You sigh as one if the crewmen stirs, "Yes, it is...."
