Quick detour or straight to the palace for some aura sharing?
To the palace, you know there would be nothing quick about that detour
Joining Green in the carriage you find it a near identical replication to one Ana used, though there is a difference in the form of two swords resting on the driver-side wall. "Are you going to put that down?" Green asked looking at the sword in your hand.
"Ah," you maybe should have gotten some more details from Sarean about if you're allow to leave the sword with anyone, "sorry, be right back." You jump out of the carriage and run into the elf's room. You don't get an immediate greeting nor any sort of response when you call for her. Maybe she's out, if that is how that works. You put the sword on her desk and loudly describe what you just did. You checked the desk as you left the room and saw the sword gone. You closed the door and ran back to the carriage. "Sorry about that." You said as Green knocked on the wall and the carriage started rolling.
You fell into the seat beside Green thanks to the movement. "You know it's Mary you're supposed to be falling for. Oh wait, far too late for that." She snickered at her joke and you rolled your eyes dramatically.
"Like she isn't in love with me." You respond.
"She's supposed to be in love you, I thought you were planning on keeping her as a Mistress while marrying Anastasia, or Vatarie, or Asune, or any of the other noble ladies you're currently trying to give an heir too."
You didn't have a response to that, mostly becasue you feel like you are being taunted into admitting something. "Your mother is better at that than you are. Speaking of your mother, do you mind if I ask about you and your sisters?"
Green laughed. "There are more graceful ways to avoid a question. However, since you might be putting a baby into at least one of us, I don't see why not." She bit her lip and spread her legs a little.
"Why are you all named for the colours you wear?"
"We exist to serve our charge. The name and colour is simply there differentiate between us. If they are ever in danger we swap, it won't delay dedicated assassin much but it shifts the threat onto us. It also removed our personal legend, any action we take it an action of our charge they are the ones who earn the acclaim not us."
That didn't sounds all that like when you knew of Blue and Ana's relationship but you had another follow up. "So why does Ana have Elizabeth and Isabelle's?"
"Elizabeth and Blue had a disagreement when they were younger and when Edin showed up, well my sister was simply smitten. Black and Isabelle never got along, possible due to the youngest member of the royal family being overly interested in lightening and shocking others." Green was being very forth coming, more than you'd been expecting.
"Wait doesn't that mean that White is Ana's original double. Why is Blue her first choice for everything?"
Green smiled and nodded. "Blue and Anastasia have always gotten along, even before their relationship was relented to by our mothers. I think it's down to their mutual vengeful streak. Nothing has been able to get between them for long enough that vengeance hasn't put them back together."
"Your family sounds complicated." It's the most appropriate thing you can think of that isn't the more honest 'y'all crazy'.
"Compared to our charges I'd say we are simple. After all, only one of us is fucking you."
"You make a fair point."
"Since I answered your question, are you going be fair and answer mine?" She added a higher pitch to the end of the question to try and give it an innocent inflection.
"I got the sword from the elf, it's the only thing I can imbue without destroying the thing."
"What can you do?"
"I don't know, was planning on asking Mary if she can give me some training, my other options could be, problematic."
"And yet you left the sword behind."
"This is probably going to take longer than you're expecting, depending on how many people there are that need help. I doubt there'll be time in the day for training." Plus you'll probably be exhausted emotionally, you are going to be experience a lot of people's feelings and who knows how they'll be treating this whole thing. You look out the carriage window and notice a distinct lack of tall buildings. "Where are we?"
"Heading out of the city." Green said causally. "Can't gather this many soldiers at the palace, injured or not. There's a muster ground by the beach. It's a quiet area so should make opening up auras easier." You don't remember explaining aura sharing to her. "Daughter of the Royal Spy Mistress remember. Or did you think Mary managed the armies scout network on her own and I'm just for warming her bed?"
"Again, fair point." You and Green laughed. "How far away are we?"
"If you wanted a quickie you shouldn't have tried asking about my sisters. Plus I don't want to fuck you without her." She looked out the window leaving the conversation there.
You couldn't argue that point, having sex with Mary's green tinged clone without her being here does feel a little weird to you ... ok maybe your mother isn't the only weird one in your family.
The carriage eventually came to a stop and Green opened the door of you. Outside was a rather large collection of tents, wooden fences, and women. "How many women are there exactly?"
"One hundred and forty-six with severe wounds that prevent combat. Ninety-two with wounds that restrict combat effectivity."
"Two hundred and thirty-eight." You had no words.
"Mary's affection might have instilled some over confident in your ability."
"You know teasing works better from her than from you."
"That's just because unlike Mary, you don't know if teasing guarantees sex." She walks towards the muster ground leaving you behind. You feel like you should be arguing this point a lot more but women have started noticing your arrival and you can see their auras radiating a tentative hope. It's going to be a long, tiring, hopefully not disappointing for anyone, afternoon.
You are led into the centre of the grounds with a growing collection of women gathering. Mary is standing outside her tent surrounded by women pointing at a table and talking. Still working on the naval campaign it seems.
"Princess Mary." Green bows earning a look up from Mary.
Mary's eyes snap to you and a smile spreads on her lips, her pupils dilate for a moment and you feel your ego growing slightly at being the object of her attraction.
"Lord Christopher. You remember my Captains." She waved her hand to the women around her. All of whom you recognise from a certain evening ritual you'd joined in on.
The captains give you very professional nods of respect and greetings. No suggestion that your history is worthy of anything in the present. You put that down to them being professional soldiers, your recently inflated ego preferred that to your presence not being that memorable.
"I've gathered the wounded in the beach side of the grounds. Green can show you the way. Why I am finished I will join you." Mary went back to talking to her captains, dedicated to her job as general. You honestly can not imagine any other woman you are with doing the same, not a one of them you can picture putting their work ahead of you, Asune maybe. It's weirdly nice to see, even without you Mary would still be Mary. You feel your heart beat a little harder for a moment.
Ok maybe you're a little more horizontal for Mary than you'd thought you were. Amazing what a bit of serous maturity does. "Thank you Princess." You say with a bow as Green walks you away. Behind you the professional attitude dips slightly for a collective admiring of your butt as you walk away. You're ego is being well fed this afternoon.
Green takes you a collection of larger tents with women in various states of limbness milling about, chatting, throwing some balls around or lazing in the sun. Green didn't call out to them, she walked you into one of the tents were rows of beds were sitting, some occupied.
Green greeted each woman by name and sat down next to a woman missing a leg. "Hello, my name's Christopher." You said with a warm smile.
"He's the one?" You could feel the lack of trust locking off the woman's aura. Hopefully the more people you helped the easier it will be for them to open up. But you have to start somewhere so you do your best to build rapport. Green does most of the work which are rather glad for. After ten minutes she's soothed enough that their aura opened up.
Their feelings are what you'd expected. Fear that they would forever be less, that their life was over, they disappointed their surperiours. And hope that this was actually going to work. Returning their aura you hear them gasping and the bed shift as her leg regrows. "You'll be a bit shaking on that foot." Your warning is ignored as the woman jumps out of bed and stomps the ground a few times.
She stares it then at you and you see her eyes watering. "To your commanding officer soldier." Green orders. The woman snaps to attention and marches out. Around you the women in the beds sat up and watched their fellow leave then their eyes snapped to you. Green stood and walked to the next woman. "Meet Lord Christopher, he's here to help if you'll let him."
This might not take as long as you thought. Though it will still probably take more than one afternoon.
