To the other cabin

Chloe shook her head as she listened to Taylor and Vicky talk. Ever since the confrontation with Heather all the blonde teen could talk about was her upcoming reunion with Dustin. As happy as she was for her friend, Chloe couldn’t help but be annoyed by Heather’s actions. Zack was her best friend and the last thing she wanted to see was him getting caught up in someone else’s schemes. To take her mind off the current situation, she stepped to the kitchen and began washing dishes while the other two girls went about making up the beds.

“So let me get this straight: My little brother was all gun ho to ask you out this week and not only has he not said a word to you, but he’s all over Heather?” Taylor asked Victoria as she stuffed a pillow into a freshly washed case. “Girl, I don’t blame you for wanting to get back with Dustin after that. I thought Hannah and I taught him better than that!”

“Well I can’t say I blame him. Heather has this magical effect on the boys at school. She’s like a walking, talking, breathing wet dream to them. Very difficult for them to say ‘No!’ when she wants their attention. Know what I mean?” she stated to her older friend.

“Yeah. Hannah had the same effect on the guys we went to high school with. Same with the guys at college. Thankfully she never made a play for my brother. If he fell into Heather’s trap, I’m pretty sure he’d fall into Hannah’s!”

“Really, you think so? I don’t think Zack would be that gullible, Tay.”

“Really, Vicky? You think my brother would be invincible to Hannah’s charms? Who do think Zack was crushing on before he met you?”

“YOU’RE JOKING, RIGHT?” Vicky gasped. “Zack had a crush on Hannah?”

“Yup.” Taylor nodded. “Why are you surprised by this?”

“Wow! Didn’t think I could be the one to break the spell of someone like Hannah Woodsen! Hope she’s not mad!” Vicky laughed.

The pair finished making the bed in the room they were in and headed to the next one. Vicky counted mentally the number of rooms they had fixed up.

“Hey Tay: Exactly how many people are going to be staying here, besides you, me, Hannah, and Dustin?” she asked.

“There’s the four of us, Peter, Madison, Lisa, Shawn, and Kendra. Maybe one or two others, but I don’t know for sure!” Taylor informed her.

“Oh, Shawn’s staying here too? Hmm! Maybe Dustin and I should stay at Heather’s cabin instead,” Victoria worried at the mention of the older Lewis brother’s name. The memory of catching him leering at her on more than one occasion caused her to gag a little.
