To the Dining Hall!!

Trudging through the snow Nathan made his way to the dining hall with his guardian following closely behind him. The campus halls like the forest were silent as he made his way to the giant hall. There was no giant hall filled with students instead a great many workers and staff sat about eating and talking ignorant of who he was. Looking around Nathan wasn't going to risk being bothered and simply gathered his food and left. Sitting in the courtyard once more he enjoyed his lunch of sliced meatloaf with a side of Yosemite golden broiled potatoes and rice with water to drink. After setting his plate to be washed and throwing away his trash he returned to the dorm and decided to inspect the 17 letters. 12 of the coaches were from the various houses on campus each offering to train him in their spare moments which were commonly and conveniently at horrible times not surprisingly he rejected all of them leaving him five options.

Looking at the first one you saw that it was former dueling champion Brice AshCroft who offered to train if you were reading this correctly however his condition was that you would have to leave the academy entirely and come to his estate so he was out.

The second one was a coach from Frankfurt Academy a rival to Ash Forest Academy not much bigger than this Academy but again the condition being you would leave the campus and transfer to Frankfurt Academy of Magic it was a no brainer you rejected another offer.

The third offer was a coach from the Moscow College of all places who’s only condition was that he be supplied with on campus room and board along with steady work and pay and that he would happily coach the Nathan with no issue. He would have to talk to the headmaster about this one but it seemed promising.

The fourth offer was the head of war magic from Stanford University in the non-magical realm who offered to coach you during spring break another offer to be considered.

The final offer was from Austin Chamberlain a British dueling prodigy and current champion unlike any of the other offers he was young man about your age as well who offered to train you over the summer with no conditions except that it be over summer break.

After reading the offers and narrowing it down to three choices you decided to maybe consult someone as you weren’t sure how this dueling coach thing worked. Looking around you searched and searched before finding the headmaster’s winter break schedule a piece of paper most students had but never used as many questions could simply be directed to a student’s dorm assistant which unfortunately you didn’t have. Looking it over you realized that the headmaster was free right now and tucked the letters and schedule into your own sweater before journeying outside once more.

Trudging through the snow you made it to campus before making your way to the headmaster’s office. Standing outside the door you knocked and waited adjusting your glasses before the tall man opened the door and smiled.

“Ahh Nathan what a welcome surprise do come in it’s been a while since we have talked and I could use a break from this awful paperwork.”

Smiling you walked with the headmaster closing the door behind you. Looking at his office it was a disheveled mess of paperwork and other bureaucratic red tape by the looks of it. Seeing your confusion the headmaster laughed before speaking.

“This is the bane of every headmaster’s existence paperwork my boy now come in come in. I can spare some time for you how can I help?” The headmaster said as he cleared a space on his desk looking at you.

Taking out the letters you explained your situation and the offers he smiled as you mentioned you wished to pursue dueling even further before you brought up your dilemma of choosing which coach to take before he smiled once more.

“Well Nathan I can tell you that with a little paperwork on my end and some, commitment on yours you could end up having all three of them as your coaches as, one offer is during summer break, another for spring break and yet another all year long. It isn’t uncommon for a dueling novice especially one of your caliber, to have multiple coaches throughout their lifetime as many coaches simply want credit for maybe a dueling season or two rarely do they work in tandem or last more then a season Mr. Blackthorn. But then again you are far from conventional compared to others and I can arrange for all of them even the coach from the College of Moscow as my dueling budget allows some leeway for some private coaches since many students don’t accept offers from private coaches seeing as how some of ours are the best in the world but it is up you of course if want to pursue all three of these talented coaches or simply choose one or two maybe instead.”
