To the Bedroom

Going for the basement would be too risky. Down there you're with your back against the wall and won't hear the car engine if George comes back early. So you decide to take the safer option and make your way upstairs.
The bedroom is less offensive to the eyes, clearly once a nest for two freshly married lovebirds. It also contrasts heavily with the rest of the house. Whereas everything else is arranged neatly, the bedsheets are a tangled mess. Some items of clothing are strewn about, a sock here, a piece of underwear there. It doesn't take long to deduce that someone had a bit of fun here. It might be a stretch to assume Mindy was involved, but you can at least say with certainty that someone used this bed the previous night and was not on their own.

That still doesn't prove anything and it doesn't really help your case as much as you want. There's still a lot to look through. Piles of clothing, some bags in the corner, the nightstands and so on. You could take the risk and stay around, digging through George's personal belongings or book it while you're still undiscovered.
