What's next?
To the Aladdin Cave
I regrouped with Glaze and Tank.
"Nasira got the princess. He has some kinda skeleton thing working for her. It came out of her ring," I said.
"That must be the ring genie. We need to find Aladdin and get the lamp genie. They should still be in the cave," Glaze said.
Glaze took me and Tank to a cave close to the city.
“Guys?” Tank called out from behind me. I turned around to see her leg trapped halfway in the sand, “Something’s messing with my leg,” She tried wiggling her knee for emphasis, and only succeeded in getting sucked into the ground even more.
“Quicksand!” Glaze said, and took a halted step towards her, as if she had to remind herself not to get too close in her efforts to help. And instead, she held out a hand to gesture for Tank to stop, calling out, “Don’t move!”
I swiped my Chainsaword down, opening a portal to where Tank was. I reached through and grabbed her hand, pulling her through the portal and out of the quicksand.
"Aladdin's supposed to be the only one who can enter the cave," Glaze said.
"Why's that?" I asked.
"I don't know. That's just the rules of this universe. I don't know what's so special about Aladdin. We just have to wait for him to get out," Glaze explained.
I took a look inside the cave, "I think I have a way in," I used my Chainsaword to portal inside the cave.
"Don't mess about, Felix," Glaze said.
"But Aladdin could be hurt," Tank pointed out.
"I'm more worried about canon violations," Glaze said.
"Canon violations?" I asked.
"It's the reason I told you not to have sex with the Princess," Glaze said.
Glaze explained to me about Canon Events. A canon event is something that HAS to happen in a story. This hadn't been a problem in the previous worlds since Alice was already going on adventures in Wonderland, the tournament on Gaia didn't conflict with any Canon and Tarzan was already living in the jungle. But Aladdin getting the lamp and being the master of the genie HAD to happen.
"That's why you must not take the lamp yourself," Glaze continued, "If you do... Aladdin may die because you took his place in the canon. Or the universe itself will be destroyed by the ensuring paradox."
Damn, I was hoping to use the lamp myself.
"I'll be careful," I said, jumping through the portal.
