What's next?

Time to rest.

Tarquin's guest room was a small space with a single bed, but he brought out a pair of bedrolls to make the floor more comfortable.

Myria swigged down the last of her tea. "I call bed!" she shouted, and jumped onto the mattress the second she saw it.

Cecilia and Dew sighed and took the bedrolls. Cecilia unbuckled her armor, then gasped and stopped when she saw Tarquin leaning into the room.

"Oh!" he said. "Terribly sorry, I didn't mean to... well... I just wanted to say that if anyone needs anything, my bedroom is just down that way. Don't hesitate to knock."

"Mmm, anything?" Myria asked. She was already under the covers.

"Of course! You are my guests!" With that, he closed the door and left the women alone.

"He's been down here alone too long," Cecilia said.

"He is a bit eccentric," Dew said.

"Lots of wizards are weird," Myria said. "Goodnight, you two!" The rogue was asleep in moments.

Cecilia sighed and finished undressing. She didn't trust this Tarquin, but she was too tired from their adventures to worry about it for the time being. She propped her sword beneath the doorknob so that it would keep intruders out, and went to sleep.
