Time is running out, but you have bigger problems...

As you stare at the smoking ghost trap on the floor your ears almost miss it. As over the din crackle of broken glass, the hum of your proton pack, and the blood pounding away in your ears. You barely make out the faint warning of the automated systems of the Hotel as they weakly Blair through the lobby, with it being fairly obvious that the hidden speakers had taken damage as they spark and weakly output its message.

"E-*Static*-mergency Jump will occur i-*Static*-n 60 seconds!"

Yet, as this warning rang out across the entire hotel lobby, a new problem soon became extremely apparent. As the ghost trap that laid upon the floor, while smoking and hissing, soon began to rattle and shake. At first, you assumed it was a trick of the eye, your mind playing tricks on you, but soon it became very apparent that the trap was shaking. Rattling and vibrating with energy, as the trap did not appear strong enough to contain the defeated prime evil within.

Panic soon consumed your mind, you had no idea what would happen if prime evil were to escape his newly created prison in the form of the ghost trap. Heck, you had no idea what would happen if a ghost trap failed, would it explode? Would simply crack open and unleash the ghost trap within? Or worse… Would the sudden failure of the trap unleash even more ghosts, all equal if not more powerful than prime evil?

You didn't have time to think, not about the consequences, or about the possible after-effects. All that mattered to you in that current moment was to get rid of the trap, and with a quick curse, you tried to think of anywhere, somewhere to dispose of the failing trap. Yet as this thought crossed your mind, your eyes were quickly drawn to the broken windows of the hotel. Windows that peered out into an endless green vortex, an endless realm of souls...

"Emer-*Static*-gency jump will occ-*Static*-ur in 45 seconds!"

"I don't have time for this!" You thought to yourself as you quickly rushed over to the failing trap and picked it up, before speaking aloud, not even looking at Desiree as you've made a mad dash for the battered front doors of the hotel.

"Desiree, the trap is failing! Get the doors!" You yelled as you quickly crossed the broken hotel lobby that had been turned into an impromptu battlefield. As your boots crunched and crackled the broken glass and debris beneath your feet, you rushed as quickly as you could with the cumbersome weight of the proton pack on your back slowing you down slightly. As you only paused for a moment to kneel down quickly grasp the ghost trap by its handle as it began to spark and sputter even more. With it now becoming even more apparent that it was failing, as arcs of energy began to arc across its form.

"What?! You dare-!?" Desiree indignantly squawked at your order as she rose from her position on the floor, regaining her ghostly tail. You briefly spirit or a quick glance as a look of panic consumed your features as before she could even argue or even begin to complain about you giving her an order, you replied with an angry and panicked yell.

"Yes, I dare! I dare because I want to live!" You yelled as the automated systems of the hotel chimed in once more.

"Emerg-*Static*ency jump will occur in 30 se-*Static*!"

"FUCK!" You swore loudly, "Desiree I wish you would get the front door open!" You yelled loudly as you didn't have time to argue with the persnickety ghost. As you could feel the heat and energy from the failing ghost trap in your hands build and build as you made a quick dash for the door.

"So you have wished it, so it shall be… But I don't like it." Desiree said quickly with ample snarked she did not even try to hide her displeasure at granting your wish. As she quickly flew over to the front doors of the hotel and cracked them open, struggling for a second as if she was fighting a vacuum. Before ultimately the doors began to creak open is a strong sucking sensation began to fill the room. Your hair whipped around and you stumbled in your run briefly as the vacuum from the outside realm began to pull you forward with only the weight of your proton pack weighing you down to point that you wouldn't be carried off by the strong winds kicked up by the vacuum.

"Emer-*Static*-gency jump wil-*Static*-l occur in 15 seconds!"

The words of the failing automated system barely phased you as you quickly got up and once again rushed forward to the now open front doors of the hotel and got a view of what existed outside of the hotel in this endless void of souls. What you saw would forever haunt your mind, as what you saw was an endless green void, filled with all kinds of different abominations and creatures that defied logic and reason. Creatures of all different sizes, shapes, and colors created an endless world of madness and insanity. It made you want to pause in your stride for just a second…

"Emergency ju-*Static*-mp will occur in 10 second-*Static*-s!"

Yet, despite all of this, despite the insanity that was before your eyes, you rushed forward towards the void not blinking for a single second before coming to the very battered doorframe of the front doors of the looby and grasping onto the doors themselves as you felt the void itself trying to suck you into the endless abyss of the fifth dimension or better known as the realm of souls.

"Emer-*Static*-gency jump will occur in t mi-*Static*-nus five!"

However, just as you are about to throw the failing ghost trap, that was now sparking and ready to explode with the sheer energy now being held within it. You felt the suction increased even more as the void recognized you as an intruder, a being that should not belong and thus wanted to bring you within itself, to examine you, to study you. As you felt the suction change in the air from a simple air stream to the horrible feeling of over a thousand different hands crawling all over your form, tugging and pulling at you, all in an attempt to drag you deeper within the depths of the fifth dimension.

"Four"

You tried to pull away, but the hands, the ghostly hands that were trying to pull you back in the depths of the void. As you began to hear whispers, endless whispers all throughout the realm. Some crying for help, some crying out in anger, and some just curious as to what you were.

"Three"

An just as the endless hands were about to drag you back into the endless void of the fifth dimension. You felt a pair of arms wrap around your waist as you quickly glance down to see a pair of green arms covered in silver bracer's hold you back from the void. Seeing this you quickly Released the ghost trap in your hands as it was quickly carried off into the endless void, as Desiree pulled you back from the brink and shut the doors behind you. Closing off the endless void of the fifth dimension to the both of you as the vacuum cut itself off suddenly and abruptly as the two of you were flung back into the air and only stopped by Desiree's ability to fly.

"Two"

Suddenly, you felt the air in the hotel crackle with energy as it began to glow with light as, by instinct, you moved to shield the being that was currently holding you close in a tight grip in midair. As you quickly turned to embrace Desiree as the entire world just seemed to glow for a single second, in an attempt to shield her from whatever was going to happen next as the world became brighter and brighter.

"One – initiati-*Static*-ng jump!"

Suddenly the world became blindingly bright as neither you nor Desiree can see what happens next as the two of you and by extension, the rest of the hotel suddenly vanish from the endless abyss of the fifth dimension. But as you do so you hear a deafening boom as the ghost trap fails, unleashing prime evil back into the endless void once more. With the last sound, the two of you hear being his endless enraged scream that echoes across the dimensions...

Yet, outside of the hotel, and in the endless void of the fifth dimension, floats the broken and torn remain of prime evil…

"_A _real Ghostbuster…" Echoed through the mind of prime evil as he stared limply endlessly at the spot where in which the hotel originally sat as his broken and scarred cybernetic fists slowly began to clinch and his mind began to run rampant with introspective thought...

As the light began to die down and the endless scream of Prime Evil began to fade. A new sound began to replace as you heard the study but calm and relaxing sound of rain hitting glass as you hesitantly opened your eyes to gaze upon a rather shocking sight. As instead of seeing the ruined and torn remains of the hotel lobby, all that you saw was a pristine and intact room. With all of the scorch marks, the damages, and the broken windows repaired as light began to slowly leak into the building through the repaired window frames.

"What the…" You whispered quietly as you and Desiree were no longer floating in mid air, but were now standing in the middle of the now pristine lobby. Seeing that it was now safe, you released your Desiree from your embrace, no longer shielding her as she too began to open her eyes and look upon the repaired room with confusion and curiosity...

As this happens… A New Question begins to form within your mind that you cannot help but voice aloud...
