Time for a Combat class, to finish the day off!

You and your whole class get changed into your gear and grab your weapons, then meet up at the Gymnasium. Combat class is still your favourite, and still the most important for becoming a Warrior, but you can't really be blamed for hoping that today's class is a bit less intense than last time.

"I've got a real bone to pick with you lot!" Professor Phoebe announces, as the five of you push through the Gymnasium door together.

"Ehh?"

She marches up to you all, stomping across the Gymnasium's blue mat, and punctuating her final step with a big downward stomp, just a short distance in front of you and your classmates.

"I heard that yesterday, you were all so tired from Combat class that Ben had a hard time teaching you in Monster Theory." She says, angrily. "WHY didn't any of you tell me that you had Monster Theory afterwards? Ben had a really hard evening yesterday, because of me!"

She looks pretty upset about it, so the five of you quickly go about mumbling out overlapping and frantic apologies. When you're all done, she shuts her eyes with a huff.

"In any case." She says, looking down her nose at you. "In today's class, we'll be working on general skills and patching up any holes I saw during last class' battle."

She takes her notebook out of her pocket again, tearing out a few pages and handing one to each of you. You take yours, and look down at it held in both hands. It looks like a list.

"On those pages is a list." Professor Phoebe says. "A list of personalised skills and abilities I need to teach you. This class, I'll be mostly spending one-on-one time with each of you, alternating every few minutes so as to ensure every one of you gets the skill training you deserve instead of general abilities that may not apply. When I come to you for your turn, I want you to nominate one item on that list, which we will then drill and practice for your timeslot."

You turn your head to look at Miranda's page. It is double-sided, even though she wasn't there last class.

"While I'm with your classmates, you should either practice what we've done this class, your capabilities with staff combat from previous classes, or drill your own useful activities. You shouldn't be standing still for more than a few minutes to catch your breath until classtime is over. Understood?"

"YES MA'AM!" The five of you shout in unison, straight-backed and eyes front. Professor Phoebe signals Cameron to come up to her first, and takes him to an empty space on the right side of the Gymnasium. Delilah pulls Jace away to spar with the wooden staffs some more on the left side while they wait, and Miranda stares wide-eyed down at her list. You look at your own too, trying to decide what'd be most important to learn first.

"Knife grip, stabbing and thrusting without hurting your wrist -- you can do that? Evading strikes, locating and attacking soft spots, identifying and taking advantage of terrain including toxic and acidic plantlife......" Miranda gawks down at her list.

It sounds like she's got a lot to think about, so while you wait for your turn with Professor Phoebe, you leave her to it and go do your own thing.
