Chapter 63 by robyna robyna

Anything else before class?

Time for Biology

Matt headed for his biology class glad that he'd survived another meeting with the football jerks. The plan of offering tutoring to keep the players eligible had seemed brilliant, but apparently Jordan and Freddy, at least, cared more about keeping the girls away from Matt than they did about keeping their teammates academically eligible. Then again, schools always seemed to find a way to keep their best players eligible no matter how little school work they accomplished.

"Hey," Matt said to Cindi as he entered the classroom.

{if Cindy>70}She grinned at him and patted him on the butt. "Hey Matt. Did you like the picture I sent you?"

"Uh, yeah. You're crazy you know."

"Crazy for you. And don't forget the dance tonight."

{elseif Cindy>0}She smiled at him and pulled back his chair at the bench. "You haven't forgotten tonight's dance, have you?"

"I'll be there," he said.

"You'd better be. I'm counting on a dance."

{else}Cindi looked up when he entered the room, then turned away, opening her notebook as if she could tune him out by turning a page.{endif}

The intercom made a fart-like noise and a chirpy voice Matt recognized as belonging to Tanya reminded everyone about the dance that evening.

Matt settled down to doing his dissection, trying to figure out why the pig had been built the way it had and relate it to the worm he'd read about and should have dissected in biology one except the LA County schools had been too broke and worried about lawsuits to provide worms or scalpels.

Any action between classes?
