Chapter 73 by Funatic Funatic

Whose Story will you follow?

Tienal - Trying

“I should, I really should.” Tienal mumbles to herself. She mumbles that every morning. However, this morning is special. Today an Estaran investigator would come to Brikstrat. Why she did not know but all she has to do is to drop the information of the bases location and Uklag and his followers would be done for.

What would that mean for her though? She would never be a knight again, she had done to much already. She also would lose the collar that brought her this much pleasure. Oh Saeletra she would lose the collar. How is she supposed to live without it?

No more quick sex for repeated orgasm, she would have to live with normal pleasure. Tienal knows she is addicted. There is no denying it. She hates Uklag for what he did to her, her pride in shambles all she can do is obey him or be cut off from this pleasure.

“I should, I still really should.” She mumbles, “For Estara, for the motherland.” Just tell the inspector. Tell her and all of this will be over. Tell her and maybe they can free all of her subordinates. Do they even want to be freed? She know the two that serve that former drone are happy. And everyone else also seems so content with their situation, drowning in pleasure each day.

Tienal had been the same way until she returned here. The sight of Estaran society had returned part of her former knightly self, but this only tormented her. It was easier to be broken than to understand what she had done.

“Your appearance is requested.” Tienal looks at the lifeless guard. She could have ended like her as well, mind emptied by Uklag. Was what she goes through really that bad? At least she could still make some decisions. Other girls would befall this fortune if she didn’t tell the inspector.

But if she did and Uklag got away…

Her whole body shudders and Tienal gets out of bed. Adorning herself in Estaran plate she leaves the room in the fort that is hers and walks to the main hall. “Ah, knightess Tienal.” The inspector bows. A blonde, green eyes. ‘Just tell her.’ Tienal urges herself, instead she says. “Inspector, how may I help you?”

“Ah, you see we have some problems in the north and just want to make sure everything is okay down here.” The inspector says, “It is a real tragedy what happened to your search party.” ‘TELL HER.’ “Yes, they all fell.” “I am aware. Do you think the mage you killed was the same one that attacked Arlheim?”

Tienal nods, ‘Tell her!’ “He matched the description.” The inspector hums, “And you say that the burned corpse of the mage apprentice Catherine was found with him.” Tienal nods again, “Yes, apparently he took care of the traitor for us.”

The inspector hums again and walks in a circle around Tienal. “Now, this is just a theory.” She says, “But are you sure that it was Catherine?” “It matched her body.” The inspector raises a finger, “That is very interesting but you see I recently got word that the base of the mage is still running.”

‘Tell her.’ “What?” Tienal asks, shocked. The inspector smiles, “Here is my theory. After using the man to gain illegal knowledge Catherine, who had always been a very talented individual according to our records, used him as a scapegoat to steal something from Arlheim. It is detestable that she would betray Estara like that.” Tienal blinks, “The report of Lady Leandra –“ “Holds no credibility to me.” The inspector interrupts her. “Defeated by a mage, she could have seen all sorts of things.”

The inspector smiles apologetically, “I was only saying half the truth earlier, we were also dispatched to organize another search party and go after that theory. I would much appreciate it if you could show us the point where you killed the mage.” ‘TELL HER.’ The knight in her head screams ‘TELL HER EVERYTHING, NOW!’

But if she did…The inspector glances at her, eyes narrowed. This person would kill her. Tienal is sure of that. If her betrayal is revealed here she will die. Instead something inside her dies, the knight in her withers away again, this time forever. “I can do that, just give me a few days of preparation.” The inspector smiles again, “Of course, we also need to prepare. Is the governess as ill as the rumours say?” Tienal nods, “Sadly. She is still able to rule but one should keep a distance, I heard it is highly contagious.”

She isn’t lying. Whoever steps to close to the truth is in Uklag’s path. Everyone who stands in her master’s way will be broken. Just like she is.

Welp, that was that.
