Through the town

Devin and his sister emerged from their modest house , each with a bag holding their necessities, their mother following closely behind, each of they're hands blocking the beaming sun from their sensitive eyes, fresh smelling air wafted through their noses, each took a sharp inhale and then exhaled deeply. it was finally time for the coming of age ceremony as they called it. Each year all 18 year old town folk were eligible to apply for a skill assessment organized by various large organizations, it was a time for celebration for all!

Taliya had turned 18 only a month after the last coming of age ceremony, bitterly complaining that she would basically be a grandma by the time the one next year came around, Devin had gotten the short end of the stick as his sister now had more to vent in her pranks on her older brother, much to his dismay. As for Devin, he was eligible to apply for it as soon as he turned 18 as well, though his mother had secretly insisted that he wait for his sister, due to his elven heritage his natural aptitude for magic was far beyond the average capabilities of the regular human, his mom was worried for his own well being, if he was discovered to be an elf who knows what would happen to him, invasive tests on him? harm or prejudice? many bad thoughts had rushed to their mothers head at the thought, it was definitely better to wait! though what she didn't know was that for Devin, being a half elf had quite a special effect on his magical growth.

This was all unbeknownst to any of the family members, all blissfully unaware of the swirling storm that was drifting just out of sight. The now ready family members set their feet to the cobblestone path from their house, leading themselves to their small town centre where the Capital carriage had arrived, the testing would begin soon and they wanted to get their quickly, it was finally time to start their adventure through the twisting and winding path of life!
