Does Skye press on?
Through the Crystal Doorway
The doors were large, but they seemed to weigh so very little when Skye reached out to push them open. It took barely a touch, the brushing of her fingers against the smooth glassy stone for them to fall open. Without the door holding it back, the music flowed free, surging over her and bathing Skye in it's steady, even pulse.
It filled her with passion and desire, drawing her forward as her tentative steps became an eager rush. She didn't notice when the doors closed behind her.
Skye found herself in a beautifully furnished room with intricate dancing designs on the floor and ceiling. They hummed in chaos, but to Skye's mind, so drunken on the music, they seemed to be responding to it, fluctuating in time to the tune, following it as it flowed up and down.
There was a large piano sitting in the room's very center, made of that same strange material as the door. Skye could see clear through it as it played, and saw that it lacked the traditional internal components of a piano. To say that it was empty, however, would have been a mistake, as the music filled every single inch of space within. She knew, however, that that was not the music's true source, but rather simply a means of amplification. It was a spot for the song to resonate and grow, but the song's origin lay above it.
High in they air, hung like a chandelier, was a brilliant, glowing golden sphere. It spun in slow rotations and shimmered and pulsed it's holy light like a miniature sun. As Skye watched, utterly awestruck, it began to fall. Slowly, the sphere descended, until it seemed to be resting on top of the piano, still spinning, but now not quite so out of reach.
"Is... is anyone here?" Skye called out in absentminded politeness. There was no response, only the music filling her mind, and the spinning golden light drawing her closer.
