Thinking a Little Bigger

Upon being treated and cleaned by the municipal water company, the magical elixir found its way rapidly coursing through every pipe in the city...but its journey didn't stop there. Drops of the original enchantment were sent many miles away and up to a secluded reservoir outside the suburbs where it had the immense opportunity to spread and proliferate. In time, the water cycle went about its natural course and collected vapor from the reservoir into the sky, forming a small cloud in the lower atmosphere. Over the course of several days, the cloud drifted its way eastward as it absorbed and was absorbed by more clouds, slowly getting heavier as it continued its journey. Spurned on by magic even its creators didn't fully understand, the cloud finally joined up with a storm front over a much larger city and unleashed its payload in the form of a gentle rain drizzle. As the chaos elsewhere was all over the news, it was about to spread globally in unexpected ways.
