Thinking Better
Janette turned her head as Reta whistled from the doorway. "That's quite a sight, not bad. Figures you have a nice ass since you can be so uptight and a pain in mine."
"Har-har, enjoy the view while you can. I'd cover myself but I don't want that green stuff to stain the blankets." Janette gave her rump a small shake before flipping her visitor off. Reta laughed and shook her head before walking in.
"Oh I will. Always was more of an ass type of girl."
"I thought you only went for girls when you had your curse."
"Not really," Reta corrected her. "I just like sex. A hot ass and a nice cock, why choose when I would rather take both?"
"Well isn't that ironic? Very fitting with your little problem-OW!" She quieted down after that small smack on her butt.
"Shut it, just because you have a hot ass doesn't give you room to be a smart ass. Or a dumb ass at that." She added as she stared at her arrow wound. "So, will this be deflating anytime soon or-?"
"Not funny, and stop acting like I have a bubble butt. It's not all that."
She shrugged and stood up. "I like them firm with a little bounce. Anyways now that I know you're good, I'm on my way out. Shout when the princess wakes up from her slumber, will you?"
"Easy, she's not napping okay?"
"I mean obviously, just trying to lighten the mood. She's breathing and besides, all of that stuff should help her heal quick."
"Yea but not instantly."
Reta frowned and sat back down next to her. "Fine I'll bite, what's on your ass?"
Janette sighed and resigned to laying back on her pillow. "That obvious huh?"
"I mean you're being oddly defensive so yea. Is this because you slept with the guy at the bar?" She waited for her to nod. "Right, well moping about it won't help."
"Could you... give me some advice?"
"What?" She snorted.
"I'm serious, I don't know how to do this thing. I've actually not been in a relationship before in like... over ten years." She admitted with hesitance. Reta shifted in her seat and cleared her voice.
"So you want to take relationship advice from a girl who every few days a month struggles with maintaining a sexual identity? This girl here? You do recall I tried to take Felix for myself when I first met him, right?"
"Uhh-"
"And I tried to take you as well when they had me chained up that same day."
"Well-"
"And I did kind of push you into sleeping with the guy at the bar too."
"No, now that part was on me." Janette lifted herself up on her arms, turning her head to see her. "You didn't push me into that, I went through myself."
Reta smiled and leaned back. "You're right, you fucked up. Glad to know I didn't do it."
Janette blinked in surprise as her friend starts to giggle, the realization hitting her as the guilt and regret followed soon. "Oh fuck you, I didn't want to hear that."
"Ha, sucks to be you kid. At least you know better now."
"I'm pretty sure I'm older, how old are you?"
"Twenty-two, you?"
Janette sighed and fell on her pillow once more. "Twenty-eight."
"Gosh you're old." She smiled before weighing in the silence she got in response. "Hey, I told you I don't do drama."
"I never asked... how did you get your curse?"
"Hm?" Reta glanced over at her friend as she repeated herself.
"Your curse, you never shared that all this time with us. Is it okay if I ask?"
Reta looked down and shook her head. "It's not something I want to share."
"Was it because you were sleeping around?" She questioned, drawing a scoff from her.
"Definitely not. I was... more of the romantic type."
"Really, you?"
"Hush." Reta said as she heard footsteps approaching them. In a minute Felix walked in carrying a tray with Dimyri following behind. "Oh, backup."
"That's right." Felix added, "We brought some more goodies. How are you doing, Janette?"
"Better, I guess. Is that for her?" She eyed the leaves laid out on the tray as the Nekomata walked around her and leaned down.
"It's the herbal mix mom gave you before, only this time with a little more kick. Is it okay if I do it?" Dimyri asked with an honest look. Janette nodded and looked away as Dimyri lifted one of the leaves and leaned in, eyeing the puncture mark. "Nice curve, hold still."
Janette blushed. "You don't have to mention that but okay." She felt embarrassed as a cold wet feeling fell on her cheek, noticing no pain on contact this time. "Huh, okay."
"Nothing?" Dimyri smiled. "Good, that means it works with you. Guess you're one of us now!"
"Right." She chuckled nervously and tucked her hair behind her ear. "Guess we're two of a kind now, huh?" She asked Felix, who nodded and tussled her hair.
"Join the club."
"Wish I left a better first impression." She added, glancing over to watch as Dimyri careful applied the remaining leaves across the more swollen and purple marks in her sister's body. "Is she healing too?"
"Definitely."
"Hey, what happened that night anyways? Is that okay for me to ask?" Dimyri locked eyes with her. "What happened when you uh... never mind. It's not my place to ask, sorry."
"I was... I was wanting some time to myself. Been stressed out with a lot that's been going on. All this running and moving and hiding-"
"But you guys are done, no?" Felix asked with a sense of optimism in him. "I mean we should those guys off, especially your sister. Shouldn't that mean they will get off your back?"
Dimyri frowned. "All you guys did was hurt them, and I doubt they would call it even." All of them looked up as suddenly they could hear crashing and loud yelling downstairs. "What the?"
"Hey, hey! What's going on, tell me what's going on!" Janette shouted as everyone ignored her and ran down stairs. She huffed and laid her head down, looking over to catch a pair of tired green eyes staring back at her. Her heart stopped right then in as she was caught in shock.
"Hey." Syri groaned out to her.
