Things that need to be said.
I watched Alice catching her breath as she lay back on the bed, her eyes closed, her chest heaving and a small yet satisfied smile on her face. Diana sat close to her and lovingly moved some hairs out of her forehead, which made the blonde look upwards.
“So… Was I any good?” she asked sheepishly.
“Very. I liked it. I guess now I can vouch for you when Oliver says you have a skilled tongue.”
I… don’t believe I’ve ever said that, but I wouldn’t fight it, either.
Alice giggled happily. “I’m glad. I was excited but also really nervous.”
“Why nervous?” Diana asked her.
“Well, you know. I was… afraid you wouldn’t enjoy it and… Well…”
I let out a soft sigh. “You should know Diana isn’t going to hate you all of a sudden just because you didn’t like how you went down on her.”
Alice blushed and pursed her lips just as Diana sighed and shook her head. “Alice, sit up.” Alice sat up immediately and straightened her back, only for her to get confused when Diana kissed her forehead. “I need to ask you a favor.”
“W-What is it?”
“Please don’t put me on some sort of pedestal. Yes, I’m older than you by a few years, but I’m still just another woman.” Diana smiled wryly at her, moving some hairs behind Alice’s ear.
“I wasn’t… Um… N-No, I guess… I guess I kind of was doing that, huh?”
To all the girls, Diana was the kind of woman they wanted to be like. Poised, confident, independent, a master of her craft and not to mention drop-dead gorgeous. I don’t think they fully realized yet that Diana didn’t see herself like that at all.
“Alice, I’m just another person fumbling my way through life trying not to fall flat on my face with every step,” Diana said. “I admit it’s flattering to see how highly you think of me, but… I’m not all that. I want to be, but I’m not there yet. Hell, I still have trouble talking to strangers, or even my own coworkers.”
“...” Alice looked down and pursed her lips. I could tell. She was starting to realize the sort of pressure those expectations put on Diana’s shoulders. I smiled. It said something about her that she understood it so quickly without cheat powers like mine. Still, she looked directly at Diana again with a small smile. “I still think you’re really cool, though.”
Diana laughed softly along with Alice. The two shared a very non-sexual hug for how little clothes they were wearing before they were face to face again.
“I’m not delusional enough to ignore that there’s an age gap between all of you and me, but still… I’d like to be part of this relationship on the same level, not someone beholden to a higher standard.”
Finally, she said it like it was. It was pretty much what Diana had been holding in for a while, at least since our vacation at the resort. I knew she was afraid to say it out loud, but I’m glad she did.
Alice nodded. “I’m sorry. We never intended for it to seem that way. You just… always seemed like you understood more than any of us.”
“The thing about getting older is that you realize how little you understand with each passing year.”
After getting older myself, yeah, that’s pretty much it.
Alice giggled, but nodded in understanding. “Can I… still ask you for advice every once in a while, though?”
Diana kissed Alice’s forehead again. “Anything you need whenever you need. If I can help, I will. You, Oliver, the others… You’re important to me. I’m committed to this.”
I could sense how giddy Alice felt and it made me a little giddy as well. And of course it did. I love these girls. Seeing them talk things out properly and grow closer was every bit as fulfilling as the sex.
After riding and coming down from the high of healthy relationship talks, we cleaned up in the bathroom and went back to the living room.
The others were playing a game on the table with cards that had pictures of cartoon viruses on them. They stopped and turned to us when we walked in, giving us looks of curiosity while Noelle grinned in amusement.
“So? How are you two feeling now?” Grace asked Alice and Diana. “Still feeling those weird after-effects?”
“I think they wore off half-way through that,” Alice said. “Like… **** arousal became normal arousal and it no longer felt uncomfortable. I WAS feeling a bit more sensitive than usual, but even that was easy to ignore after a while.”
“It’s the same for me,” Diana said. “Not much else to add.”
“You two look pretty happy, though,” Noelle said, glancing at the two women. “Did it feel particularly good or did something else happen?” she asked teasingly.
“We… said some things that needed to be said. I think now we can be even more comfortable with each other,” Diana said with a smile. “And speaking of that, I also think I’m finally coming to terms with the fact that I like women. Sexually, I mean.”
“Yep. Same here,” Alice said, stretching her arms up with a shiver that made her giggle.
“Wait, just now? I thought we’d all accepted it already,” Sarah said.
“I mean, it’s a little more complicated for some of us, right?” Mila said. “Like, I enjoy fooling around with all of you, and these days I even get a little turned on when I see you showing more skin, but it’s definitely not the same I feel for Oliver, and it’s confusing.”
Diana, Alice and Noelle nodded in agreement.
“Who says it has to be the same, though?” Sarah asked. “Look, I’ve said plenty of times that I’m not the biggest fan of putting labels on relationships. I believe that what’s important is consent and that everyone feels satisfied, and I think we all agree on that point, at least.” Everyone else, including me, agreed with her. “I don’t know what you’d call this, especially with every sexual identity and preference having a specific name these days, but I don’t see anything wrong with being both romantically and sexually attracted to men while only feeling sexual attraction towards women. Heterosexual, homosexual, bisexual, pansexual, asexual… I’m getting lost already and I sure as hell gonna have to do some proper studying soon, but in the end what’s important is that we’re all comfortable with who we are, right?”
Diana nodded and gently elbowed Alice on the side. “See? She has a lot more figured out than I do.”
Alice laughed heartily. “Yeah. More than all of us.”
Sarah tilted her head. “Hm? What did I miss?”
I went up to her and kissed her forehead. “Don’t worry about it. Another time,” I told her.
“Now the real question is: how do you feel about this, Oliver?” Grace asked me. “I know we’ve asked like 20 times, but… you know.”
Yeah, I knew. Consent and comfort. The lines are hard to see in this sort of polyamorous relationship, but the girls didn’t want to do anything that made me uncomfortable and I didn’t want them to do anything that would make THEM uncomfortable, either. So in that sense…
I let out a soft sigh and smiled. “I’m happy for you. I really am.”
I didn’t need to elaborate more. The girls understood. This was good.
