Thieves Guild and Maven

“Lookin’ good, Astrid,” Delvin whistled as she entered the Ratway.

Astrid blushed as she rolled her eyes and was surprised to see the entirety of the Thieve’s Guild minus Mercer Frey. She was even more surprised to see Maven Black Briar sitting at the bar. “Ah good, you’re back,” Maven said. “I trust the deed is done, then?”

Silena nodded. “No casualties. Well, except for Commander Maro.”

“Good,” Maven said. “I knew you’d get it done. Hello, Astrid. Sorry if we interrupted one of your sessions. But my time is obviously more important. Plus I believe I just saved the Dark Brotherhood’s lives so… it’s a simple cost. I won’t even charge you. Although… I have to be honest. I don’t think you’re fit to lead the Dark Brotherhood anymore.”

“Excuse me?” Astrid said.

“Don’t take it too personally. But I want Silena here to run the show from now on,” Maven said. “She’s already leading the Thieve’s Guild. Might as well add to that collection.”

“But…”

“Do you dare question my decision? Go on, tell me what’s on your mind,” Maven said as she stood up to face Astrid directly.
