Chapter 14 by Verdant_Hatchling Verdant_Hatchling

What decision?

They tucked tail, and ran for their lives.

As Terran stood beside Haruo’s form, he turned away from the fleeing figures, as he simply walked away, while having Elyrah on his back, still being pleasured with varying intensity, to the visible, though quite playful, jealousy of Haruo, as she nearly jumped him then and there, but then, something in the distance caught her attention, as she suddenly grabbed Terran’s hand, dragging him through the street, as they were suddenly in front of a nondescript building, as Haruo took out a key, unlocked the door, before leading them into the interior.

After a few moments, Terran had been pulled down a few flights of stairs, as he was abruptly face to face with an absurdly tall elven woman, standing nearly seven feet tall, and not in a wiry way, either, as her form, one which even those who possess godly physiques would be envious.

Then, as the beefy elven beauty saw Haruo, her intense visage instantly faded, the facade of inert aggression falling from her face, as she picked the bunny girl up within her arms, making the near competent looking bunny girl look like a younger sibling being tossed about quite easily, as the elf suddenly spoke to the new people, “Heyya, what’re ya’ll doin’ here?”

As she smiled an oddly wide smile, Haruo then barely pulled herself from the elven embrace, as she ran in between them, detecting a veiled threat in her friend's words, “No, Selera, these are my friends, you’re gonna… Well, you won’t scare ‘em, but still, don’t…”

As Haruo spoke, the beefy elf dropped any still retained pretenses, as she immediately questioned the authenticity of her statements, “Nahhh… You’re lying Haruo, how could they not…?”

As she was trailing off, Haruo spoke up on Terran’s behalf, though there was something other than admiration that was heard in her words, “Terran slew nearly a dozen of the Longtusks, and quite handedly at that, and that’s only who I know of…”

This brought an expression of disbelief, as she tried to rebuke Haruo, “But I can do that, too…”

As Haruo went to speak again, Terran suddenly jumped in, “Selera…? Fancy a duel?”

This brought a joyous exclamation from the elf, as she grabbed his arm, dragging him through the underground facility they were within, finding a large empty room, with visible enchantments shining on the walls, as she leapt to the other side, a hundred feet in a single bound, as she laughed a haughty, though obviously facetious, laugh, as she asked, “Well Terran, are ya’ ready for a beatdown?”

As Terran stood across from this particularly enticing figure, an odd event happened in an instant, as suddenly, everything was brought to an abrupt and complete stop.

As Terran stood there, utterly confused at what was happening, he heard a voice, which brought a surge of joy, and, of course, sorrow.

“Well. Terran Aegis, my dearest creation, what a journey you’ve endured, and look how strong you’ve grown from it… Always remember, my dearest, that you are amazing. An intellect far surpassing your humble beginnings, but you’ve become too focused on gathering…” A slight chuckle was let loose, as she continued her loving spiel, “In this world of magic and sorcery, a source may be welcome, but it’s by no means necessary, and in this tiny glimmer of my soul that remains, I can sense it. You are by no means limited in your magical power, which makes it truly so…” She stopped, and a few soft steps later, she was in Terran’s view, “You’ve surpassed the oh so humble clay beginnings, to a higher plane than a mere construct… You’ve truly gained LIFE.”

As Terran heard her every word, a slight heaving started in his chest, again, in spite of his still lacking of the necessary organs, but with these words, it seemed to not really matter. Was he alive? Actually alive…

“My dear, remember now, with as little as your intentions, become more. Become great, and become mighty… Now, go… Find ease in your proliferation, now and forever more, my love...”

As Terran stood there, looking at his beloved creator, as she suddenly faded from view, the elven woman across the massive room from him leapt into movement, bounding across the room once more in a single bound, as she suddenly had a spear piercing through Terran’s chest.

But Terran merely stood there, seemingly dead to Selera, as she was suddenly worried, “Wait, no, you were supposed to dodge… Are… Are you dead?” As she worriedly looked at Terran, she suddenly saw his eyes open, and was shocked, both by the beautiful crimson color of them, and by the pure, unadulterated sorrow, and rage, within them.

Then, Terran simply raised a hand, caressing the spot where his creator had stood seconds before, a foot from the elven woman, whose only assumption was that he was in the midst of ****, but Terran stopped, looked at his palm, balled it into a fist, as he boldened his gaze. And with an absurd notion, spoken with his intensely focused intentions, three words left his lips, the tone grim and dark.

“Grow...”
