The next day...
They reach Frel'K village
Elena awoke to the sound of wooden wheels grinding against dirt and rock. It was a bumpy ride, but that mattered little to her. It seemed that the she had slept for quite some time, as the other passengers had already awoken ahead of her. Elena looked to her right to see a smiling Scherie staring, her face was up and close, so much so that Elena could make out some of the finer details on her face. She had a somewhat plain face, although her high cheekbones, sharp eyes and elegantly straight nose gave off a mature "older sister" vibe, which was a charm in it's own way. Red faced in embarrassment, Elena backed off in surprise, at how close Scherie was, while she just continued smiling and greeted her with a "good morning".
Elena had met with Scherie prior, and had become good friends. Scherie was two years older than her, and often teased Elena, however despite that, she often acted something similar to that of an older sister. Although Elena couldn't say as she was adopted and did not have any siblings.
Elena looked outside the wagon. There wasn't anything that stood out. There were plenty of trees, and a large plain of grass, and despite attentively observing the environment, there were no animals to be seen which had somewhat disappointed Elena. The animals were probably avoiding the caravan. Because the caravan consisted of many people and horses, it was quite loud and easy for animals to tell whenever a caravan would come and hide beforehand. However, it was also much safer travelling in a large caravan as thieves and bandits often avoid attacking such a large number of people, particularly as large caravans often traded and transported goods between cities, increasing the city's income. The bandits seemed to understand that if they were to interfere, the city would mobilize it's army against them - or so Scherie had said.
"By the way, where are we at the moment?" Elena curiously asked. Or perhaps she was wondering how close they were before they reached their destination.
"We're almost at Frel'k village. Look, you can see the smoke from chimneys in the distance"
It wasn't long before the caravan arrived at the village. It was Elena's first time visiting another village, and it had seemed that it was similar in size to Gwelden Village. What was different however, was that the village had a large windmill towering over it. Apparently, this village specialised in milling grain - another fact that Elena had heard from Scherie. In fact, this was her first time outside of her village, so she was quite naive and everything that she knew came from Scherie.
Elena and Scherie disembarked from their wagon and spent the next several hours exploring the village. Scherie had been here many times prior and was leading Elena around. Apparently it also seemed that she knew most of the people at the village as well as they would often greet her upon seeing her. The men also excessively stared at Elena and often asked Scherie for an introduction. Fortunately, Scherie had explained that they were planning on leaving the morning after and did not have time, which made most of them leave. There was however, three men who followed them and continually asked Elena and Scherie to "come and have fun with us". It seemed that Scherie already knew about these men and openly exhibited an annoyed face when they had first approached her. Elena giggled at first, having seen Scherie show a different side of her instead of her usual mature self, however it quickly became an annoyance. It was only when Elena and Scherie had returned to the caravan later in the afternoon that the men had given up. It seemed that the caravan had already conducted trade with the village and was ready to depart, but decided to stay the night.
Elena and Scherie had ventured to the grass fields just outside the village. They comfortably laid on the soft grass whilst staring into the stars and cheerfully talking with one another, Elena couldn't help but notice that while talking, Scherie stared blankly at her for a few moments before looking away. It wasn't long before they finally returned to the caravan to sleep. Elena had left her waterskin behind, however didn't want to bother Scherie, so she decided to wait until she fell asleep before returning to retrieve it.
Does Elena have an encounter while retrieving her waterskin?
