Marielle finally managed to break the chains of the ****, whom now introduced herself as Nastia. She made herself a makeshift outfit out of the scraps of clothing and began examining the forest floor. The fairy lay on the forest floor for some time, although it was hard to say whether it was Asmodoeus' spell or Nastia's that lead him to his current state. After a time, he stirred, and the adventurers helped him to a stump in the clearing. Brynn kneeled before him, bringing her face to his. "What happened? How did you end up in a state that had you seek to kill us?"

"Not kill you." He spoke slowly, clearly exhausted and dazed. "Azmodeus wants slaves. Female slaves. Young slaves. I don't know what for. They came upon us in the woods. A woman, another demon. Next thing I know, I'm here. I don't know how you broke their hold on me, but I thank you for it."

"As do I", Nastia stepped back into the clearing, clutching a sheaf of leaves. She placed them over their wounds, their healing properties evident as they made contact. "If it weren't for you, only gods know what I would have done, or what they would have done to me."

Marielle sat silently, twisting her relic in her hands, listening silently to the conversations around her. Finally she spoke: "I know how we broke the spell.... In the cavern, Helios came to me. He offered me a boon, but I don't totally understand how it works."

"I hate to say it", Nastia spoke "but it seemed like.... I didn't know how else to help, so I..." Her eyes went downcast in the memory of what she'd done, " used what I had, and that's when your amulet did... whatever it did."

"Yeah well killing the bastards worked just fine," Brynn spoke abruptly, interrupting the thought that all were having at that moment, grabbing her kit, "so that's what I intend to keep doing. I don't care much for Solis, but it's people don't deserve what's coming to them Marielle. We need to go."

The reminder of what was to come was enough to stop Marielle wrestling with her thoughts. They thanked Nastia for her aid, and the fairy for the information they provided, and set off
