They don't get the chance to just yet

"Shit!" Helen suddenly exclaimed, seemingly ignoring her mother's suggestion.

"What's the matter, love?" Susannah asked looking slightly puzzled.

"I'm still in Zoe's body and she's supposed to be working at the pub. I'm going to get her fired!"

"She'll be in trouble at least," Susannah agreed. "I'm sure I can make up something for you, Paul will listen to me."

"But you're not you at the moment, are you mum?" Helen laughed, gesturing towards her own body which her mother possessed.

Susannah simply smiled and looked of at Adam. "Well maybe Adam can help you out if he stops looking at his new cleavage!" Her daughter's boyfriend had not been listening to their discussion at all and had instead been fondling his borrowed tits.

"What?" Adam said dumbly. He shamefully tore his hands away and tried to look like he'd been paying attention.

"So why do you need me come along?" Adam moaned, struggling to keep up with his girlfriend. He was finding walking in boots with a significant heel and in an unfamiliar body quite a challenge.

"Because you're in my mum's body who also happens to be a joint owner of the pub," Helen explained. She didn't turn to face Adam, but continued her march towards the pub in earnest. "We can't let Zoe lose her job at the pub just because I've possessed her and run off in her body. Paul will think she abandoned her shift without telling him, so we have to come up with a valid excuse."

"Who's Paul?"

"Seriously Adam?" Helen stopped dead in her tracks and span around to face her boyfriend. "He's a co-owner of the pub with mum. Do you not listen to anything we ever talk about?"

"Oh, that Paul!" Adam said, raising a finger and apparently remembering. "Woah, that's weird." He pinched the bridge of his nose and his eyes widened.

"What now?" Helen asked impatiently.

"All your mum's memories, thoughts and feelings about Paul suddenly hit me like a tonne of bricks. She really doesn't like the man."

"Again, you would know that if you ever listened to our conversations properly."

"Sorry," Adam pouted. He shook his head, still overwhelmed by having foreign memories mixing with his own.

Helen's frown turned into a smile. "It is so weird you being in mum's body. Come on, the pub's just round the corner. And I think I've thought of an excuse Paul will buy."

"But your grandad is ok, then?" Paul said seriously, his face a picture of concern.

"That's right," Helen nodded. "It was just a false alarm. A scary one, but he'll be fine. My mum is with him now anyway, so nothing to worry about."

"That is good to hear. Are you sure you're ok to finish your shift tonight?"

"Absolutely," Helen said with a grin. "Susannah's offered to help, so I'll be fine." She playfully patted her boyfriend in her mother's body on the back.

"Of course," Adam said dutifully. "Can't have Zoe working at the bar alone after a scare like that."

"Very good," Paul said plainly. Adam noticed Paul barely made eye contact with him. "I'll leave you to it then." The stocky man turned and walked away, apparently happy with the explanation he had been given.

"That was easy," Adam whispered when he felt Paul was out of earshot.

"It was a bit," Helen agreed. She kept her voice down to Adam's quiet level. "We need to be careful going forward though."

"What do you mean?"

"With the spellbook, I mean. And possessing people. We could seriously ruin someone's life if we're not careful."

"I see what you mean," Adam said half listening. He had become distracted by his reflection in the mirror behind the bar. To Helen, he appeared to be gazing at himself lustfully, which was a little unsettling considering he was in her mother's body.

"Excuse me?" came a male voice, breaking Adam and Helen out of their respective bubbles. "Are you two lovely ladies working behind the bar today or just having a chat?"
