They climb up

As the panicked women enter the city, they frantically look for an escape route where your wheels won't be able to follow. For these living, thinking, rational beings, taking height seems a no-brainer.

You watch them enter an alleyway, where you are promptly met with a fence. They easily climb over it, watching you from the other side as they catch their breath. Three zombies catch up to you, having spotted the pursuit when it entered the city, and they mindlessly throw themself forward. You watch them clumsily try to climb it; The two women will have a minute to relax before these three manage to climb over.

The fence is too high for you to climb it, especially with only one arm, so you instead take the long way. You roll around the corner, until you reach the other end of the alleyway.

Once you reach the other side, the two women spots you, and their faces fill with obvious terror. They quickly scan their surrounding looking for a way out, and you begin trudging towards them. There are trashbags and cardboard boxes littered all over, making it difficult for you to progress, but you get a little closer with every step, making their situation direr with every passing moment.

The blonde tries to ram into a closed metal door, but it doesn't budge. As she goes at it, her running partner screams out, "there!" pointing up at the fire escape. "Boost me up and I'll lower the ladder for you!"

You're almost there. Their body odor waft to you over the scent of garbage, and soon your nostrils aren't able to sense anything other than delicious fresh living meat.

The larger girl squats against a wall and holds her hands together, making it a platform for her friend. She pushes up, and the skinny one extends her arm up towards the bottom rung. She almost reaches it.

"You're gonna have to jump, Dee! I'll give you a boost in three, two, one..."

She uses her strength to push her hands up just as the black girl hops, allowing her to reach the ladder. Without losing a beat, she climbs up, towards the mechanism which will release the ladder further down.
