Ali is, frankly, not very impressed by this university's security guards. The guy doesn't even call someone to take his desk post as far as she can see. If she were robbing this joint, this would be the perfect opportunity for her crew to just...saunter in and take that big fancy-looking book in a glass case by the entrance. Oh, well. Finding a window with a wide sill on one of the outer walls, she perches there and pulls out her phone. I wonder if... She hesitates. Then she connects to the campus wifi and begins a search.

There's the underworld, Ali's learned, and then there's the Underworld. Ever since she was rudely introduced to the latter by an...unpleasant associate...she's been figuring out how to get deeper into it. Just to keep herself safe. Once you've had one partner in crime turn out to be a demon, you sort of don't want to take the risk that on your next job your safebreaker's gonna bug out and turn into a werewolf or whatever.

There are places, on the web, mostly unlisted and hard-to-find unless someone introduces you. Places where these sorts of things are talked about openly, if anonymously, and where jobs that involve such things - and almost always fall on the shady side of the law - are posted for freelancers interested in such work. The sites have been, at the very least, educational. And some are localized enough to be useful.

Logging into one such site, Ali begins to scroll, looking for anything that might relate to their weird mushroom-man-thing.
