“Now, stop running from who you are. Confront it, embrace it, and go for its fucking throat… like a real fucking vampire!”
-TheCrimsonFckr
Pain was something John had become intimately familiar with over the last week and a half of his life. Since then he had been clawed, bitten, shot, stabbed, infected, exploded, and experimented upon, usually multiple times within a single day. Gamer's Body kept him whole, but it did not prevent the agony of having such wounds inflicted on him, nor did it properly prevent them from occurring in the first place - it merely healed the damage back to a normal state.
Even after all of that, he was not prepared for what he felt when Seras leaned in and sank her teeth through the precious flesh of his neck. The bite was tolerable, even mild compared to some of the agonies he had experienced, especially with how dulled his feelings were by the cocktail that was still coursing through his veins. But the sucking - the actual removal of his blood from his body - was like feeling **** itself take an icy hold on John's very soul. Even Seras seemed to sense it, to feel it in the way he tensed and writhed under her ministrations. She hesitated for a moment, the pain ebbing away slightly as her needy consumption slowed.
"Keep… keep going… I can heal myself!" John growled, feeling odd with her teeth still very firmly embedded in his throat. It was true - John was actively healing himself as she continued to drain him, with no damage notifications popping up but with his HP steadily falling as each and every drop left his body.
Seras grunted affirmation, but it came out as an almost orgasmic moan. John couldn't claim to empathize with the joy she must have been experiencing at that moment, but he had no desire to short her. Both of their lives now depended on what strength she was able to summon from this feasting.
"Come on… we can do this, I just… a little more…"
John's mana drained while his health remained stable, trying to keep enough of both to deal with whatever unforeseen consequences might come from having his own creation feed upon his life essence. He stopped healing himself when his mana dipped below thirty and then patiently watched until his health continue to drop.
"I'll give you everything, Seras… everything I can, everything you want! Take a piece of me inside of you… and use it to destroy everyone who has ever tried to tear us apart!"
Seras' gasp was torn between ecstasy and awakening as she pulled free of John, her teeth glistening with his very soul as she awoke to the world, her world, for perhaps the first time in totality. Her eyes glistened a ruby that they would never again lose and shone upon the world with the intensity and fury of a woman scorned. A fire lit inside of them, a light that illuminated her path and burned its way into the Abyss itself. Something changed at that moment in her, and its ripples worked their way across the Abyss. John had seen magic before, had been struck by it.
He'd never felt it so clearly as when Seras parted from him and met his eyes, her gaze shifting as her eyes filled with a glistening crimson that echoed the strangest mixture of love, hate, pain, and ecstasy that John had ever seen. Magic itself lived within Seras for a moment, and as it did so, they both changed forever.

John could scarcely do the math on the exact degree to which Seras had just improved. He could barely comprehend the fact that for the first time someone else had unlocked an achievement. Was that intended? Had the others simply not done anything noteworthy, or was Seras now tied in some way to his powers by absorbing his essence like that? Did it have anything to do with “Twin-Soul” talents, whatever that meant?
The pounding at the door made it clear that there was little time to contemplate things like that. Seras absently wiped her mouth, clearing the last remnants of John's fluids from her face, glancing at him for a long while despite their imminent attack.
"I can't… can’t thank you enough, Master. For your trust, your help, for everything. You’re the first person in a long time to believe in me."
The door burst open and shattered the calm. The shotgun Seras had used to jam the door shut burst apart near the area where barrel and stock met as the metal finally gave way under the unrelenting **** of the intruders. The door opened, quickly at first and then relatively slowly as the initial impact wore off, revealing a slew of Cabal soldiers with weapons pointed at the doorway.
"Let me show you how much that means!"
The cry was far more aggressive than the words would have implied, as Seras turned to face the new opening while Cabal soldiers filed in. Most of them never made it, their guns only half raised as the newly leveled vampiress descended upon them. What John saw was a mixture of awe-inspiring and truly terrifying, in a way that only his very being could understand. He felt a cold deeper and more chilling than anything that Himiko Nakamura could've inflicted on him, as if his very soul were frozen in time watching the events unfolding before him.
Seras had always been strong, stronger than John for a lot of the time he'd spent with her, especially after his Reincarnation temporarily reset his progress. He'd never seen anyone, with the exception of possibly Kim Moon, show such strength and brutality in hand-to-hand combat. But where Kim was a practiced martial artist, Seras was like a **** of nature. She did not weave herself through the battlefield, or direct its flow. The battlefield was violated, physically trampled upon, and where she stepped it cowered away from her or was broken in the wake of a relentless ****.
Seras' fists which had once bruised now shattered. The grips and throws that had once subdued or dominated now obliterated. Blood and limbs were lost in nearly equal measure, and gunfire that sprayed across the room as she moved in was panicked and unfocused. The nearest man had his chest caved in as the metallic butt of his rifle was thrust into and partially through his ribs, the weapon firing loudly but harmlessly into the wall at the side of the room. John flinched but Seras merely gripped the screaming man’s arm, keeping his finger held down as she twisted both of their bodies to spray bullets across the rest of the Cabal members.
Two of them were wounded but stayed on their feet. One cast a shield that protected himself as well as the members standing behind him, but John saw at least one fall with his neck suddenly spraying blood who was not so fortunate. The vampiress never let go until the magazine of the automatic rifle finally ran dry - then she hip-checked the man against the wall and caved his skull in with a quick elbow to the nose.
She was in her element now. They were on the defensive, they had seen Seras’ power grow immensely in a matter of minutes. Did they think she had been holding back before? Did they assume she was playing with them? John doubted very much that they had time to consider any of those possibilities.
Seras hurtled herself at the man casting the shield, even as Cabal mages on the other side prepared their own offenses. Perhaps seeing that the firearms they had used before were not having the desired effects, many of them opted for spells. It didn’t end up mattering. Seras threw herself against the shield as if she didn’t even notice it was there - which was almost the exact effect that it had on her. She threw a punch, and the translucent white wall cracked. Seras let her arm bend and carried her momentum through as much as she could, hitting it next with her shoulder and forcing her way through the shattering fragments of magic left in the wake of the eviscerated shield.
Spells and bullets went flying the moment the Cabal realized they were not protected from her any longer. The panic and fear spread like an airborne virus, an aura of unrestrained horror centered on whoever Seras had most recently brutalized. As she thrust her arm through one man’s abdomen all the way up to her elbow, the panic reached a fevered pitch. Half of the bullets found marks - those that managed to hit Seras simply passed through, a brief spatter of blood being released from her form before shadows and flesh knitted together. The rest - a majority of those that did not land in the stone around them - pierced through the Cabal themselves, as the soldiers panicked and tunneled on her agile form, forgetting entirely about the allies they were slaughtering in their wake.
So much blood sprayed that for a moment John lost all sight of Seras in a haze of slaughter. The flash of gun barrels, splatter of blood, and tumbling of lost limbs all created an almost literal fog of war that continued until there were simply not enough men to sustain it. John had a hard time evaluating which side had killed more of the Cabal - Seras had the blood pouring over her to prove her own combat prowess, but truly, the difference between the Order and the Cabal had become more apparent than ever.
The composure and discipline of the Order had never been more evident than the moment that John saw the Cabal turn against each other, tearing their former allies apart with lead and lightning as one man literally turned inside out from a misdirected spell. John, out of sheer morbid curiosity, cast an Observe on one of the men that Seras decapitated with a swipe of her left arm.

“Levels above me and… she’s still tearing through them like they’re not even there,” John murmured. It was true that she wasn’t killing all of them, but without the aid of Gamer’s Body, those who lived through their injuries were almost certainly wishing for ****. Her fists left shattered bones, her grasping fingers tore limbs and other extremities from their rightful places, and her knife-hands and tearing motions removed chunks of flesh as if carving new life from the rot and decay in human form that lay before her.
One man stood strong, left behind as Seras tore past him. He did not escape unscathed - he bore a gash in his abdomen a foot long, with most of his innards struggling to escape the grasp of a single arm clutched desperately across his midsection. Rather than the blonde assailant who had dealt him the wound though, he targeted the only person who had yet to draw blood.
“Fuckin’ bitch, I’m gonna enjoy watching you cry!”
John saw the barrel pointed at himself, and in that moment, he relished the thought. After seeing what Seras had endured, the bullet would've almost felt welcome, if he had the HP to survive it. Sharing in some of that pain felt almost just, in a way - but John had seen Seras cry enough that day. Besides, he hadn't gone without his own pain. He could still imagine those teeth in his skin.
-3 HP!
John smirked as the bullet found a home in the wall behind him. It passed through his head like a thought, touching only the barest form of what John was. The concrete behind him exploded with enough shards passing through that his minimal mana reserve he'd kept didn't last, so the final few left marks as they pierced John's flesh.
Seras had turned at the gunshot, seen what was happening, and frozen for an instant. Only an instant - long enough for a blade made of crimson fire to pierce through her chest. Seras growled low in her chest, grabbed the neck of the man who had assaulted her - his eyes displaying to the world the exact moment he realized how poor his decision-making skills were - and pulled the man's head entirely from his shoulders.
Then she turned to the man who had shot at John, who was trying to line his shaking hands up for another shot. He abandoned the effort at the last second, turning all too late to meet the approaching vampiress. Her blow sent a crack through his body louder than even a gunshot as his spine must have surely been shattered in multiple places.
The rampage continued. Wherever they were, whatever safe location John had been hauled to, there were others outside. John never got to see those - Seras shut the door behind her to prevent any further attempts on John's life, and he heard her secure the lock outside. All he heard after that were the screams. They lasted for minutes until Seras, bloodied and bruised as ever but smiling and with wounds now closing instead of simply oozing blood everywhere, slowly strolled into the room. She smiled all the way over to him, ruby red eyes glistening as she smashed the metal holding him to the wall until John was free at last, and feeling slowly began to return to his limbs.
"So, um, one thin' I'm not too clear on… are you gonna turn into a vampire now?"
John laughed. An uproarious, raucous laugh, the most movement and clarity he'd had since waking up here. Her eyes were different, her body firmer, and despite all her new strength, he found it hard to do anything but laugh when she quirked her head to the side like that and placed a finger over her mouth worriedly. For all she had changed, for all they both had changed… the quirky little Seras he'd always known was still in there.
"Seras… if that would make me half the person you are, I'd take it."
“The usually succeed because they have nothing to lose.“
