What does she do?

The unexpected... which you really should have expected by now.

Chapter 73 by Impregmaniac

You open your mouth again to start another fit, when she launches herself at you, grabbing your head and kissing you deeply. Your shock stops you from pushing her off, and then your instincts make you kiss her back. But that only lasts a moment.

Pulling herself off you, Charlie looks at you with eyes full of rage, desire, frustration, and confusion. Swallowing hard, she takes a few steps back from you before turning on her heel and running away as fast as she can, leaving you as one of the small gobsmacked mass that had collected around you.

Like a statue, you stand there completely immobile for who knows how long, before you finally turn and lean over onto the rails. Even then, there is no witty or snarky comment from your purple partner, that you would actually welcome. At least you could bark and yell at her for an explanation.

For the longest time in long while, you feel completely alone.

The streets, shops, and people of your town become a blur in your mind as you meander aimlessly around, completely lost in your own thoughts. Somehow, by some miracle, you find yourself back at your door in the middle of the night. Your feet are killing you, your stomach is threatening to eat itself, but your arms feel like lead. And your throat is parched.

Stumbling around in the dark, you find your liquor cabinet and pull down something strong. You don't care what it is, just that it burns. Immediately regretting that decision after the first swig, you run over to your sink to drink some water, when you become suddenly aware of your phone in your pocket. Pulling it out, you see that it is full of missed calls, voicemails, and text messages from both Charlie and Terri.

The urge to throw your phone away is strong, but you can't seem to do it. Chucking it onto your counter, you splash some water on your face to try and wake yourself up. When that doesn't work, you stick your head under the shower and turn the cold water on.

The shock to your system makes you cry out, but it does the trick. Shaking the water off your head, you are now lucid enough to read through some of the texts, and in doing so, you find that they are pretty much saying the same thing.
