The three women are having tea

Opening the door, you're rather surprised to see that instead of ongoing corporal punishment, the ladies you left earlier are now sitting around Sharon's table, tea and scones having been served. Tilly is still in tears and sitting very gingerly, but otherwise seems an equal to the other two.

"All sorted out, then?" You ask nobody in particular, trying not to show your disappointment that it looks like further chastisement of the lovely lass won't be on the cards.

"Oh, er, yes, Jack," Dr. Blake seems a little anxious or concerned about something, giving a little laugh before continuing. "Erin had a chat with Tilly while I was freshening up and, well, it turns out that whilst her colleagues all want her to take the job, they have no intention of letting her do it."

Seeing your blank look, your teaching assistant elaborates.

"You see, Professor, the men who work there want her to be in charge so they can tell her what to do, which will be very different from what her bosses demand. She's sorry she wasn't clearer about the issue, but she didn't want to sound like she was complaining about her colleagues, who obviously only want what's best for her."

Tilly nods, but doesn't speak, perhaps hoarse from all the screaming.

"Well, what are we going to do?" You pause and everyone looks blank, so you continue. "Just because we know the problem doesn't solve it. How do we make sure Tilly can do the job without interference?"

"Er," Sharon begins, "we just thought that now we can explain to her parents why she needs to wait and they'll understand."

"Understand? I wouldn't," you reply, scathingly. "Everybody agrees that Tilly should be accepting the promotion—or don't we, any more?"

"Well, you must admit it's tricky…" The tutor trails off under your withering gaze. Long past the age of spankability, she still bows to your undeniable authority and wisdom. Of course, you could use the Rulebook to sort everything out, but you can hardly tell them that.

"I suggest we call Tilly's bosses and make them aware of the potential issues." By we, you mean Dr. Blake, of course. "I'm sure they'll take our concerns seriously and between us we can come up with a workable resolution." Even if you have to surreptitiously use the Rulebook to ensure it.

The young businesswoman looks grateful to you for your intervention, despite the part you played in her rigorous chastisement. On that subject, she still owes you a tip for the little bit of spanking you performed earlier.
