Chapter 5 by Raven_blackwood Raven_blackwood

The small or large bone?

The small bone

Deciding that the larger bone is too big, or could be used as something else instead, you place it into your pouch and kneel down next to the bars.

With the small bone, held nimbly in your fingers, you reach through the bars and press the tip of the bone along the metal until you find the keyhole. Once you've found where to slide the bone into, you slowly and cautiously insert the bone, being careful not to damage the bone or the lock.

Twisting and turning it slowly around in the hole, you get a mental picture of what it looks like. Making you feel more familiar with it before pressing and turning the instrument.

The small clicking noise ends without the desires result. But with out any other choice, you try again. This time, the sound of a heavier click, and the subsequent movement and creak of the metal bars fills you with releif.

Knowing that you have essentially picked a lock with a simple bone makes you feel more confidant in being able to reproduce the affects.

Standing to attention, you take note of the new area outside of your cell.

To your left is a dead-end though not completely empty, you notice another three cells, one of which is open already, the other two, in the same state as yours when you woke up.

Infront of you, is a heavy wood looking door. From the look of it, is reinforced with some metal plating. Otherwise an ordinary door.

To your right is a corridor leading to a T-junction. other than a few torches spaced sporadically along the way, nothing out of the ordinary from your view point.

Your options being, to investigate the other cells, try and open the door, or venture down the corridor?
