Investigate the cells

With your decision made to check out the other cell's for anything useful, along with the fact that being a dead end, you'll have to turn around anyway, convinces you it's the best decision. You've got nothing to lose at least.

Walking slowly down to the left of your cell, you see more clearly that the cells all lining the left side of the wall are all somewhat identical. The only different things being what’s inside them.

The first cell, the one being already open, is empty, bar a bed just like yours, without a mattress. Otherwise, nothing else of notice.

The second cell, locked just like yours was, houses a skeleton crumbled in a pile of bones on the bed. Something does catch your eye, the skeleton seems to be holding something to its stomach area, or at least where a stomach once was. From your vantage point you think you can make out a small metal reinforced jewellery chest, but you’re not sure unless you try and pick the lock and check it out. Other than a dark red patch on the middle of the mattress, nothing else of interest.

The third cell, like the first is empty of anything of interest, the only difference to the open one being there’s a mattress exactly like the second, just without the blood stain.

Before checking out the last cell you try and decide what to do about the second cell, something tells you there might be something of interest in the chest, maybe something of high value. But a daunting feeling fills you with the urge to not go in the room. The skeleton was inside a locked cell, and if the stain was blood, they might have been killed in there too.

Taking a deep breath you make a decision..
