The shoemaker’s family (Gwyneth’s family – Rowena’s friend)

Moray is the oldest person in his family and the village shoemaker. Moray has always been a prude guy. One who never participated in the Samhain event, because he felt it was too perverse. He got into a romantic relation with Tuilach before she was 18 and convinced her that the Samhain event was a bad thing. One she shouldn’t engage in. If she did, it would ruin their relationship. So, when she hit her 18th birthday, the two of them got married. Making it so Tuilach was never mandated to participate in a Samhain bonfire.

Tuilach is a woman with little confidence and always looks to her man for advice. She didn’t think the Samhain event was perversion, but she was very shy about it. So, when Moray told her every woman who participates in Samhain is a slut, she quickly agreed with him. This gave Moray the opening he needed to convince her to marry him before her first Samhain. While Tuilach felt 18 was too young to get married, she didn’t want to speak up against her boyfriend for fear he would consider her a slut and break up with her.

Jannon is Moray and Tuilach’s first child and only son. He works as a farmhand at the cattle farm, so he has access to beef and cow skins. Skins which later he has to bring to the tanner, where he met Treasa. He quickly got a crush on her and engaged in conversation, but unlike his mother who never disagreed with her husband, Treasa would sometimes disagree with him. Not wanting her to turn him down, he chose to be diplomatic and come to an agreement with her. Hoping to convince her that he can be more reasonable than his father. Although, this never convinced her to notice him in a romantic way. It was only when Jannon caught Treasa at a Samhain, a participation which his father was very much against, that he could finally do to her all the things he had been wanting to do. The days after, Treasa became a lot more flirtatious towards him, which eventually resulted in their marriage.

Treasa is the orchard farmer’s oldest daughter who also apprenticed under her aunt as a tailor. At first, her meetings with Jannon were strictly job related. Both of them had to get leather from the same tanner. It is only when Jannon caught her during a Samhain that she finally discovered how much passion Jannon is capable of. Once she had that first taste, she wanted more. It was not easy though. Jannon’s parents were known to be the town prudes and both of them saw her as a slut. This changed however when she gave birth to her and Jannon’s first child. After all, if now they still renounce her, they’d be renouncing their own grandchildren.

Brendon & Brendis are Treasa and Jannon’s sons. With Brendon only 4 years old and Brendis still 1. Due to their jobs, it is hard for their parents to take care of the little rascals. Jannon can’t take them to the farm for he doesn’t want them to get hurt from the cows or the equipment. Treasa also has a hard time taking care of them when she is taking someone’s measurements or fixing clothes. So, a lot of the time, they are being looked after by their grandmothers or other family members.

Gwyneth is Moray and Tuilach’s second child and only daughter. Since her father has a good business relationship with the tanner, she was able to come into contact with Rowena a couple of times. The two girls being the same age certainly helped with them becoming friends at an early age. Once Gwyneth became 15, her father started introducing her to boys he felt were good for her, hoping she’d get into a relationship with one of them. His goal was for her to marry one of the guys shortly after becoming 18 and before her first Samhain. But Gwyneth is a girl of high standards and none of the guys were good enough for her. As a result, she never got into a relationship and was not able to get married before her first Samhain. This doesn’t bother Gwyneth nearly as much as her father. She does not perceive being **** into the bonfire dancing as a form of slutty behavior. As long as her participation is mandatory, not voluntary, it is not her choice to make so she also takes none of the blame. Her choice in being a slut or not lies in whether she chooses to follow the path or not.
