The shadow of hopes

After hours of walking through the meadow I found myself exhausted both mentally and physically.

From the physical side, eventhough I didn't run or did any strenuous activities my legs were tired.

What surprised me however was my mental exhaustion. My mind dulled over time and my thought process slowed down almost to an end. The repeating scenes of nature and small animals gave me the urge to puke.

In a normal situation these sights of lush nature and and small animals roaming freely would make me feel relaxed and peaceful. Unfortunately my situation wasn't normal.

These unchanging views, on the contrary filled me with dread. I felt like I was trapped in an infinite labyrinth or an looping corridor filled with the same furnitures again and again.

Before all of this I never understood the people who feared being stranded in a boat in the middle of the ocean. But now I think I understand it better.

The fear of not knowing where to go to find help or the shore, the fear of not making it no matter how much you move, the fear of never going back home. All of those fears started creeping on me and questionning my reason to continue.

The only thing keeping my brain slightly aware was a game I invented, out of boredom.

[Ahh... another bunny, with this one it makes fifteen... or seventeen if I count the two dead ones I saw earlier...]

That's right! "Counting Bunnies" the new game is finnaly out! Available right now on any slightly deranged mind. Playing it is easy, you only need a good eyesight and some lucky feets.

I laugh at my inside jokes, while I cry that my only entertainments are counting bunnies and making up some stupid advertisement.

I stop my self-depreciating comments as I gazed ahead. Because ahead on the horizon I see a shadow familiar yet strange at the same time. This shadow looks like the blured figure of a human!

[No way!? I'm not dreaming right? This isn't an hallucination or anything like that!?]

Without thinking I rushed in direction of the horizon, affraid of losing it, the shadow that could help me find a way back. The shadow of hopes.

I started to shout hoping to get it's attention.

"Hey!!! Over here! Can you hear me, I need help! Please don't go!"

It seems to have heard me since it started to look in my direction.

As I got closer and closer I was able to see more detail about my potential savior. And the more I saw the more my legs slowed down to a halt.

My potential savior was a girl with long straight brown hairs falling behind her. Her black eyes stared at me as if she wanted to drill a hole through my body. Her face scrunched into a scowl, as if she was looking at a sworn ennemy.

We had similar size but I think I might be a bit taller. Her body of white-complexion, formed into a stance ready to fight, not even covering her bare body.

The only places covered were her neck surrounded by soft looking white fur and some brown fur covering some part of her arms and legs, the brown fur was the same colour as her hairs and the rabbit ears atop of her head.

The most surprisng above all else was the unexpected full set of male genitalia dangling between her legs flacid.

[What is this, why does she have fur or bunny ears?! And why does she, it, or whatever has a penis?!]

I stopped around thirty feet in front of her shocked. The reality of the situation hitting me like truck. I was torned between denying the reality in front of me and feeling elated to see "someone".

I took deep breaths and looked at the bunnygirl facing me. Her hostile stance and expression frightened me a little but at least she didn't attack me yet. Maybe I can defuse the situation and try to ask her question later.

[If we manage to understand each other at least. For now I will raise both hands and try to talk to her slowly and in a calm manner.]

I slowly rised both my hands palm facing her. I see her tense up ready to react to everything i do.

"Hello. I didn't mean to..."

As I try to soothe her with my voice I see her widen her eyes in shock, she put on a serious expression and she seems to put strenght in her legs!

[I have a bad feeling about this...]

Before I end my thoughts she barrels towards me with incredible speed!
