Chapter 5 by Thorn_ Thorn_

The best place to put a spawn gate is....

The sewers, naturally.

It's not the cleanest place, but at least it will be the most secluded. Underground is the safest place from prying eyes. The occasional worker might be there or a few vagrants but little else to worry about. Even then, they aren't going to be the people who have their shit together against a demonic invasion without warning.

Getting into them isn't difficult, and the only real worry is the danger this has to your coat. The whole place is warm and smells like...a sewer. The signal underground has actually been improved in recent years, for emergency situations. The irony is how this works against them.

The passage way that you settle on, is where you can internally map to directly lead you to a homeless camp with makeshift buildings of scrap metal and cardboard. The only matter now is outstretching your hand and the lines for the symbols of a forgotten language begin to form partially on the walkway and across the shoddy homes of the sleeping residents before the bright flashes of magic take place.

"I am Night Sucu-AW EW." The first demon to form comes quickly though she doesn't look pleased at her surroundings. Blonde hair and a porcelain skin color make her look way too elegant to be in a place like this, as she flaps her bat wings refusing to even touch the ground while staring at you. "You think this is funny? Well, your a stupid bastard who didn't even think to contract me. Die!"

She readies her arm as the heat gathers for a fireball. You don't even bother to move. The minute she tosses, the flames simply refuse to even touch you and launch back towards her. The blast doesn't hurt her that bad however and she shakes it off, though already realizing this isn't a fight she can win. "So...obviously we got off on the wrong foot and second chances are important to any healthy relationship."

The change in attitude isn't surprising. "I will let you help. You can at least be the cannon fodder." It only seems fair to tell her exactly what she is getting into, but the option of being maybe dead is still better than definitely dead. "Got it. What first?"

"Dealing with that." She doesn't get to ask what "that" is before the sounds of explosions are heard, but it's nothing that catches you unaware. The sound of magic rampaging across the area is loud, as more demons begin to form out the gates. "Beating vermin in line? I can do that."

Demon invasion started. What now?
