The secrets of the Dragon

“So… I guess this would be a perfect time to actually get to know each other better?” It just now occurred to John that he barely knew anything about Kaen, and he was pretty sure that she barely knew anything about him as well…

“Totally! I want to know everything about you!” said Kaen happily.

Chuckling to himself, John said, “I mean… it’s not like there is much to know about me. I am… well… I was your typical high school nerd too busy playing games and living in fantasies to have many friends… I think the most interesting thing about me is my new power and what I did with that, and that’s what you already witnessed first-hand. What about you? What makes you, you?”

Kaen shrugged at that, “Honestly, I barely know anything about myself… I’m a dragon, well, dragonkin, so not a full dragon, I’ve been with the Moon Clan since I can remember, and they are basically my family. I have friends in this town, pretty much all of them mundane aside from you…”

John was kind of shocked at how leisurely she talked about not knowing her family. “So you don’t know who your parents are?”

“Nope.”

“Did you ever try to find out?”

“Sure. But someone covered their tracks pretty thoroughly, making sure they wouldn’t be found. At some point I just gave up, deciding it was better to cherish the family that I have instead of the one I could have.”

That was… both a very depressing thought but also pretty reasonable.

“That’s… extremely mature. Well, then again, I guess I’m not different…”

“What do you mean?”

“I found out that the man that I consider my father is not my biological father. Some psychotic ex of my mom is, and the two decided to raise me as their own because they otherwise would’ve had more complications to bear children. I will never think about my dad as anything else than my father, and the guy I share my genes with can properly fuck himself.” John felt some bitterness seep into that last comment... He really had no interest in finding out who his biological father was.

“Huh… that’s pretty heavy stuff…”

John shrugged at that, “It’s only heavy if you think too negatively about it. It’s also a story of overcoming the bad parts of life and making the best out of stuff. Just a matter of perspective.”

Kaen looked at her hands when John said that. “A matter of perspective… You think one could look at a birth defect the same way?”

Raising an eyebrow, John asked, “What do you mean, ‘birth defect?’”

The dragonkin looked into his eyes at that point, snuggling her body against John’s. He could feel the heat radiating from her. “Well… I’m part dragon, right? Kwang says a dragonkin usually has wings and the ability to breathe some kind of element. My element is obvs fire, but I can’t breathe fire or consciously use it outside of my body like I’m supposed to do. Whenever I try to use my fire, I heat up, get stronger, get dumber, and hornier... If I hadn’t fallen **** yesterday, I would’ve probably jumped you once we were done… I already had a hard time to keep myself in control when you helped me up after the first round…”

That was a lot to take in… “That’s… certainly a bad handicap… but that strength you had was amazing! I bet other dragons don’t have that much strength!”

She looked at him with big eyes, “You think?”

Reassuring her, he nodded, “Totally! I bet they’re pretty much chumps that have to rely on their size and their magic!”

His word obviously had some effect on her, “If you say it like that… maybe my abilities aren’t that bad…”

He slung his arms around her, “Well, it certainly means that I get a horny dragon after fights for a victory hump, so it can’t be that bad!”

Giggling loudly, she snuggled into his arms, “Hmm, that means I also get a victory hump after fights! That sounds like a fair trade!”

The two of them remained in that position, simply enjoying the water and the closeness to one another.

“By the way, how does this work now? Are we a couple?” asked Kaen.

That question transformed his stomach into a tumbling mess... “Well… I guess we kinda are? But at the same time, kinda not... you see… I might have multiple girlfriends already…”

She looked at him with a questionable look, “Like a harem?” John could only nod. “Oh… hm… eh, I’m fine with it. Is Kim part of this harem?”

The only thing John could do now was blink, “You’re okay with it? Just like that? And no, Kim isn’t a part… yet.”

“And that blonde girl we just said goodbye to is? And the redhead?”

“Yeah… both of them… How are you so okay with this?”

Shrugging, Kaen just said, “Dunno. Just feels right. Alternative would be being alone and having to masturbate after a fight. I’d stick around you for sure since Kim will probably make moves on you at some point. So I’d just be in a worse spot without anything changing majorly… And you’re cool, you have cool stuff, and you have cool adventures. You’re like a superhero, but with a harem. So why not? And every harem needs a dragon.”

“…You’ve seen many harems then?”

“Nah, but someone needs to greedily watch over all those waifus and their husbando,” she said with a stuck-out tongue.

“About that, that word is pretty… weeaboo… do you watch a lot of anime or read manga?”

That question apparently caught her on the wrong foot as she started blushing and looked away, “Maybe… but so does Kim!”

’Huh, so she does something other than train…’ He would save that knowledge for some other point.

“And you? From what I know, your nickname is ‘The Gamer’. So, do you game a lot? And only game?” asked Kaen to direct the conversation away from herself.

Thinking about it for a second, John said, “Eh, I only have that nickname because my character screen says that and because my ability is game-like…. But I pretty much dabble in everything to an extent.”

Speaking of character screen, he wanted to check something.

Well, that was something he would probably deal with tomorrow when he had some free time… Because aside from his date in the evening, he had nothing planned for the entire day!

“Character screen? I think I don’t really realize how your ability works…” Kaen pulled him out of his thoughts with that question, bringing his focus back to the beautiful naked girl in his arms.

So, John once again dove into an explanation on how his ability works

“Does that mean… you can basically learn anything?”

“In theory, I think so, yeah, given enough time and the right resources… But then again, so can everyone, I just seem to have a shortcut for most things.”

“That sounds… so Gary Stu…”

“Harsh… but not entirely untrue…”

By now they were both out of the pool, putting their clothes back on. Turns out you dry really quickly when you’re basically a walking heater or when you’re standing next to one. John was less putting his clothes back on as he was equipping them, but by now that was his version of ‘putting clothes’ on.

Once they were both dressed in their underwear again (since they would likely go to bed soon anyway), they walked back into the house, which the maintenance drones had cleaned up after their little fun.

As they entered the living room, they were surprised by a voice.

“Well, are yer finally done screwing around like fecking rabbits, ya crazy heathens?”
