The sacrifice

Faye looked into the eyes of each of her friends as if silently asking for their opinions. It was Kris who finally spoke. "I see no harm in it" she admonished. "You're not going to be sacrificed, just a few drops of your blood. To receive the gifts of a Goddess is a special tribute to the person who receives them. The only evil I sense here are the Draugar themselves. But as Malaetol said, they can be used by both good and evil as guardians of ancient treasures, temples, altars, and shrines. I think you should accept it. You are our leader, our Queen, and our Captain."

Jess and others voiced their agreement, and so it was done as far as they were concerned. It was all left up to Faye now to choose.

Faye looked into the eyes of Malaetol, as if she were trying to find any hidden evil or malice inside her. She took a deep breath, and sighed. "Who am I to stop the rebirth of a Goddess? I will help you."

"Come then. Let's proceed to the altar" Malaetol smiled. She led the entourage to the altar, and they all gathered around. The altar was made of pure gold. Golden Cherubs stood at each corner while the center of the altar, both front and back had a very well detailed representation of a woman's reproductive system. On top of the altar, the bones of someone, or something, lay in disarray. "Behold the earthly remains of the Goddess Vulva! She shall live again, and walk the Earth, and bless her people!"

Malaetol then took Faye's hand, and with a golden knife from the altar, she cut her. Faye's blood began to flow as Malaetol caught it in golden chalice. Once the chalice was filled, Malaetol touched the cut on Faye's hand, and healed it.

Faye stood there looking at her hand in disbelief. It was like the cut never happened. She, along with the rest of her comrades, watched as Malaetol spoke in a strange language they had never heard before. As her benediction continued, her voice grew louder and commanding, until she reached the end with a crescendo " vita vivet Vulva!" she proclaimed as she sprinkled the Virgin Queen's blood all over the remains of Vulva's Earthly body.

The eyes of the Cherubs lit up in laser blue. The altar's uterus began to glow red. A bright white light flooded the altar from above, and the earth shook under everyone's feet. The bones on the altar began to reform into a human skeleton. Muscles and organs began to appear as flesh covered them as fast as they appeared. Then, in a blinding flash, the rebirth was complete. All went dark as everyone gathered at the altar, except for Malaetol and Faye, collapsed on the ground.
