Chapter 13 by brambank brambank

What should Leanne do?

The room on the right

Leanne quickly made a dash for the room to her right. Flinging the door open in a hurry before leaping inside and slamming it shut behind her. As she stood breathing heavily with her back flat against the wooden surface while she caught her breath.

With no sound from the corridor Leanne began to relax and turned her attention to her surroundings. She realised the new room was very dimly lit. She could barely see more than a metre in front of her and it took a few minutes for her eyes to adjust. Nervously she called out into the darkness. “Um… H-Hello?”

There was no answer. Not even a sound or a groan. Leanne breathed another sigh of relief. At least she wouldn’t have to explain her current state of undress. Not that she had any idea how to even begin justifying why she was walking around topless. Cautiously she stepped further into the gloom.

The room was the same as others she’d seen. Sparsely furnished with just the basic necessities. She was wondering about the quality of the residents' lives when she remembered all the fucked up things she'd seen that day. Maybe there was a reason their lives were so limited. She also noticed the air in the room was incredibly cold. Her arms wrapped tightly around her naked bosom as she shivered and breathed slowly. As she did, Leanne saw the fog her breath appear in the low light.

“Maybe I shouldn’t stay in here too long,” she declared aloud. Wondering if it was safe to return to the corridor.

Should Leanne stay or go?
