The receptionist again

She knew it was a bad idea but Leanne just wanted to make sure she was doing the right thing. So she turned back and walked up to the reception desk. "Hi again!" she said, trying her best to appear as friendly as possibly whilst grinning borderline maniacally. The receptionist only half looked up this time. Deciding instead to stab her finger in the direction of the sitting area Leanne had just been to. "Umm..."

Leanne's persistence had obviously hit a nerve with the cranky receptionist and she tossed her magazine down with a heavy sigh of resentment. "Why is it always the dumb ones?" she muttered to herself.

"Excuse me?" replied Leanne, her beaming smiling wavering just slightly.

"I've told you where you need to go," continued the receptionist, her angry gaze now firmly fixed on the younger woman. "I can't help you much more than that!"

"Well, sorry for having to make you do some work." The **** friendly act clearly wasn't working and Leanne was starting to get annoyed too. "I'm sure it's been a while since you've actually done anything useful around her. I'm trying to do something nice. All want is you to answer one small question and you can barely be bothered to look up from your fucking magazine!"

The receptionist slammed her hands on the desk, startling Leanne and causing her to jump a little. "You should not be using that kind of language in here and you definitely shouldn't be speaking to me like that. I think you should leave. Now!"

"Fine by me!" answered Leanne, trying hard to hide the quiver in her voice after being spoken to in such a harsh tone. "It's probably not even worth it anyway." The young woman grabbed her jacket and handbag from the cloakroom and stormed out. Trying hard not to look at the irritable older woman as she left. That was the last time she try that building. She'd just have to find some other way of helping old people.
