So anyone else responding to the bad news?
The parents
The parents of the Batfamily, those brought back, had a rather different reaction. They knew death wasn't permanent, as them currently breathing was evidence to this very fact. This meant simply that Condiment Wizard needed to be brought back, but how to go about it? For surely their master, the great Condiment Wizard, did not just rise from the dead. No, it would be something far greater for him; he was surely to be a phoenix and rise to even greater heights when he came back to life.
So how were they his minions to serve this cause? It was an interesting question that each of them had a different answer to, as they were all skilled in various ways. So each would use their talents to reach this goal and would find different answers as a consequence, though only the one with the best answer would be right in the end. For the master would ride greater than ever before, none of them cared which of their answers were used, just that their master had returned.
John and Mary Grayson were leaping through the air in an old warehouse their son had gotten for them to turn into a place for them to practice their acrobatics. They weren't practicing, not this time; they were losing themselves in the motion as they automatically twisted and flipped without conscious thought. They were doing this to help themselves think as they were trying to think on how to bring their savior and master back.
The two thought and thought as they went around in a circle, swinging from one thing to the next, not saying a word. Eventually the silence was broken as John spoke. "Perhaps we go somewhere high? Find some sacred place in a mountain somewhere. A place where only our acrobatic skills could allow us to reach it." John said to propose using their acrobatics as a means of travel to get their master to the sacred place to bring him back.
"No," Mary Grayson says firmly. "We don't know of any sacred mountains that we could go to, and we would risk losing masters' bodies if we tried to go somewhere as out of the way as that." Mary Grayson said, explaining her reasoning, to which John Grayson had to agree. "No, we use our circus connections to find someone who could not only bring Master back to life but bring him back better." Mary said, which John understood.
As John knew exactly what she was talking about. In the circus there were magic tricks and things. The audience suspected they were struck by how it all worked. Then there were the others, those who were born different, either psychic or magical, whose abilities were underused in their performances so as to not terrify the audience with their sheer might. One of them not only had the ability to bring Condiment back but also I'm in an even more perfect body.
A plan found the Grayson parents moved and began making phone calls immediately. They would find one of these powerful warpers of reality, and any who got in their way would find that the Graysons were very capable of bringing people high in the sky and dropping them towards the hard rock of earth's surface.
In another part of Gotham, at Wayne Manor, Martha and Thomas Wayne were also going over their options to revive their master. Thomas was going over a stack of books from mad doctors that might just have the solution when it came to reviving the dead. Martha was going over the finances, making sure they had the money to buy any elixir or the services of any existence they needed to bring their master back.
"We should have enough," Martha said, though the look on her face said that it could be better. "We will need to take a much more active role in the company, as our Bruce in his kindness has ignored several business opportunities that could bring massive profit because they're a bit more on the ruthless side. " Martha stated confidentially, to which Thomas didn't answer for a minute till he finished reading certain pages from the book.
Once he was finished, Thomas looked to Martha and responded. "Then do it. We need all the money we can get, as I have the start of the idea that could bring our master back but need a few more rarer books on madmen's medicine to be sure of it." Thomas said honestly to Martha, who noticed. So a future takeover of Wayne Enterprises was made mandatory, the company having no idea what was to come.
In another part of the city, two women on opposite sides of the moral spectrum try to come up with their best plan for how to bring back their master. Catherine Todd was walking back and forth in the room, clearly nervous and unsure of what to do next. "What are we going to do, Sheila? I don't know how to raise the dead. Master did not teach me. So how are we going to bring back our master with abilities we don't have!" Catherine shouted at Sheila, who looked back at her calmly.
Sheila looked at her calmly, staring her down, letting her get back in control of herself before responding. "Calm down, it's simple what we do." Sheila stated calmly to Catherine, who looked back at her clear desperation in her eyes. "I'm a nurse with illegal connections, and you're a junkie. So we find the ultimate drug that will bring back our master like his death was just a bad dream." Sheila Haywood said simply.
Catherine wanted to say that was insane. How could they find or create some drug that could bring back the dead? Then she remembered that she'd been brought back from the dead with magic condiments. Extreme drugs sound more reasonable than what had already worked. "Let's do it!" Catherine shouted excitedly. Sheila rolled her eyes in response, and then the two got to work on finding out how to make this super drug.
Meanwhile, with the last couple, they sat around a table. A very nervous Jack Drake trying to appear as small and hard to see as possible. As his wife had an idea on how to bring back their master. It was rather simple for them, as they hadn't just been co-CEOs but also archaeologists. So it was a simple matter of doing the research to find what artifact they would need, where it was, and then simply going there to get it.
The problem was his previous bad management had ruined a lot of their connections to the archeological world as well as having to sell off all their equipment to pay debts. So Janet Drake was currently stuck in phone call after phone call trying to cobble together the people and equipment for a dig. Something they should have already been able to do without effort.
So Jack Drake continued to try and avoid his wife's gaze that held hellfire in it and thought on how best to help once his wife was less likely to burn him alive for the setbacks his poor decisions had caused. Hopefully he could make up for it by proving extra useful at the dig.
So there it was, couples looking to bring back a man already alive. What will these new methods lead to in the end? Only time will tell if they make abominations or miracles; either way, The condiment wizard will have much to look forward to learning about when he returns to Gotham.
Is there any body left that serves Condiment wizard still reacting?
