The night continues

After taking their photos, Zack and Heather sat back down and watched the sun until it dipped below the horizon. As the pinks and purples faded from the sky, Zack ran his hand up and down Heather’s back. She kissed him gently on the lips in appreciation of their moment together.

“Mmm! What now, Baby?” Heather sighed.

“The show’s not over yet,” Zack informed her.

“Huh?”

“You know how night time works, right? When the sun goes away, the moon and stars come out and play!” Zack said while extending a finger to the part of the sky opposite from where the sun had set. Heather followed Zack’s finger and looked towards the eastern sky, where it was dark enough for a few stars to be visible.

“Oh goody! I love looking at the stars out here. You can see a lot from this area!” Heather exclaimed.

“It’s amazing how clear the view is when you get away from the lights. There’s no moon tonight either, so we should see even more,” Zack stated.

“It’s gonna get cold though. We won’t be able to watch them for long,” frowned the brunette.

“We can fix that! You go get one of the sleeping bags and we’ll wrap up in it. While you’re doing that, I’ll pull the logs off the fire and move the chair so we can see better,” Zack replied.

“Okay, Baby!”

Heather sprung up from Zack’s lap and went into the tent. In a matter of seconds, Zack managed to knock down the fire enough so there wouldn’t be any light interference from the flames. He then pushed the coals into an even pile so they would continue to throw off sufficient heat. By the time he was finished, Heather had returned. After moving their chair, Zack and Heather retook their seats, covering themselves in one of the sleeping bags.

Within a half hour, the sky darkened completely and the stars began to shine. The young lovers kissed as more and more stars appeared above their heads. A slight breeze sent a shiver up Heather’s spine, causing her to snuggle her boyfriend even closer. The boy rubbed her shoulder, making her feel both loved and warm at the same time.

“What do you think of the stars, Baby?” Zack asked her.

“Mmm! They’re perfect! I just wish I knew some of their names,” Heather replied.
