The next morning

Mark woke up early the next morning. Last night felt like a dream, he had woken up, got out of bed, went across the hall, talked to one of the biggest movie stars on the planet and fell asleep again two minutes later; it could've very easily been a dream. But this was real. Emma Watson was next door. That was reality. A wide array of fantasies went through his head; each one more ridiculous and unlikely than the last.

He opened his Ipad and googled "Emma Watson". Most of the search results were expected. "Emma Watson latest red carpet appearance.", "Emma Watson visits the beach." Some other search results however... "Emma Watson breaks up with boyfriend." He clicked on the link immediately, the article was about a month old and for some inexplicable reason, this excited him. But even he knew this excitement made no sense. That's like saying he gets to play in the English Soccer team because David Beckham is out injured; it just doesn't work that way.

He shook his head and turned off his ipad and dressed up to go to the hotel gym. He wore a black polo shirt and khaki cargo pants; even at the age of 46, Mark looked fit enough to pass as a college athlete. He usually worked out with weights in the mornings and followed up with a run around the local park. The divorce had taken a toll on him but he had turned to fitness as an escape.

He was relieved to find the gym empty when he arrived. As he started his workout on the treadmill, his mind wandered back to Emma Watson. He couldn't help but wonder if she was still next door, or if she had already left the hotel. Maybe she was having breakfast right now, or getting ready for a day of filming. He knew he shouldn't dwell on it, but he couldn't help the curiosity that gnawed at him.

"Howdy neighbour." he heard a voice from behind him.
