The new masters bad day

Present day... in 2006

Levi Summer was having a bad day... which made it a pretty typical one for him. He was pretty sure he failed his 2nd period bio test, despite really, REALLY trying this time. But no matter how much he studied, his anxiety still kicked in, making him forget half of it. He mentally beat himself over this as he sat alone in the lunchroom, not having the energy to even attempt at awkward socialization.

The scrawny highschooler junior had just had his birthday, though his life didn't feel much different, especially since he still had two years of school to dread. At 18 he was old for his grade. This was because he had been **** to repeat 8th grade due to having a mental breakdown partway through it as a result of his parents divorce. Since then, he hadn't been able to escape the reputation of a crybaby who belonged in a special school, not helped by the fact that he never challenged any of the rumors that were constantly made up about him.

He just prayed that no one found out about his therapist, or the antidepressants he was on. Though his mom had assured him they were nothing to be ashamed of, he knew some of his classmates would have a field day with it.

Letting out a tired sigh, Levi got up, not having the appetite to finish his food. He had math next period, which was his favorite subject, so he hoped that would at least cheer him up.

Unfortunately, partway there Levi heard a familiar voice behind him, which stopped him in his tracks.

"Well if it isn't the sweet summer child himself, Levi"

A feeling of dread overcoming him, Levi turned to see John Booker, a highschool senior that viewed Levi as his favorite punching bag.

"Can I just go?" Levi asked, not in the mood to deal with this right now, though knowing deep down it was futile. John smirked and then shoved Levi hard on the shoulder, causing him to fall to his knees.

John laughed "I barely touched you and you collapsed like a ragdoll. Are you made of straw or something?"

"I'm sorry" Levi said, hoping that apologizing for being weak would be enough for his tormentor, but once again knew it was fruitless. It had been less than six seconds and John had already hit him. Levi could tell this was going to be an especially bad one.

John let out a cruel chuckle, before starting another taunt. "So I heard from Lauren that she saw you playing Pokemon. You're still into that kid shit? What, do you still watch Barnie too?"

"I'm sorry" Levi said again, blushing and desperately wanting this to end.

"Jesus fucking christ! Again with the apologies! Do you have a spec of testosterone in those balls? Hell do you even have balls?" John grabbed Levi by the shirt and pulled him to his feet, before slamming him against a locker. He then released him and took a step back.

"I'm giving you a free shot at me. Come on Levi!"

"W-what?" Levi asked, trying his best to not tremble.

"I'm giving you the chance to hit me. Go ahead. Punch me. Get back at me for all the shit I give you! Do it."

"I-I... uh..." Levi stammered, staring at John like a deer in some headlights.

John, with a big smirk on his face, waited for ten whole seconds before bursting out laughing. "God you're a wimp. You can't even stand up for yourself or get payback like a man." And with that he punched Levi right in the stomach.

Levi felt the wind escape his lungs as he fell forward onto his knees, his back hunched forward.

"That's how you hit someone you little bitch" John exclaimed.

Levi said nothing, trying to block out the pain. He could feel his eyes watering, but was determined not to cry.

John sneered down at him. "No wonder your dad dumped your mom for another bitch. He probably just wanted to get away from a disappointment like you."

Levi felt his blood turn cold, before a torrent of despair burst through his body. All the pain John had inflicted on him barely compared to what he had just said to him.

Levi could feel the tears coming. 'No... please don't cry... please not again... not in front of him...' he internally begged, but it was no use. Still hunched over, and his head lowered, Levi wept onto the floor in front of his grinning tormentor. The suddenly ringing school bell was almost like a chime proclaiming John's victory over his victim.

Knowing there was about to be a crowd, and deciding he'd gotten what he wanted, John turned away from Levi, adding a "see ya around, summer child" before walking into the crowd of students which were now entering the hall.

Levi just lay there, unable to get up, and trying in vain to stop crying. A passerby student looked at him sympathetically, but most just walked around him. That is except for one.

"Um, EXCUSE me! You're in my way!"

Levi looked up and whimpered at seeing his second least favorite person. The blonde highschool senior, Lauren Peterson, looked down at him with disgust.

Behind Lauren was her twin sister Kaitlyn. The brunette looked down at Levi sympathetically, but didn’t do anything to help him.

The highschool queen Lauren cleared her throat. "Some of us actually have places to go" she said, in annoyance, despite the fact that she had plenty of room to walk around him. "You can take a nap on your own time."

Levi nodded weakly, not wanting to get even more on Laurens bad side. Lauren was the self proclaimed, and accurately titled, queen on campus. A daughter of a rich family, she always gave off an air of superiority. In many ways she was worse than John, despite having never hit anyone in her life. With him you only needed to worry about when he was in your face. Lauren on the other hand could destroy a students career with a single rumor, which she did often. Levi was sure that half of the lies people believed about him came from her.

"Any day now!" Lauren added, tapping her expensive boots. “Or are you hoping to look up my skirt while you’re down there?”

She took a step back, gagging. “OMG, you are, aren’t you? You’re such a degenerate . I’m going to tell everyone!”

“No… I wasn’t… please…” Levi whimpered as he painfully got to his feet, but buckled forward from the strain. In doing so he briefly brushed against her soldier.

"Uhg, gross. Get off me" she spat.

"I'm sorry" Levi said automatically, still crying from John.

"God do you have any idea how expensive this top is. You better not have gotten any of your disgusting sweat or tears on it, or I swear to god you're paying for it."

"It won't happen again" Levi said, already moving as fast away as he could while still in pain.

"What a freak," Lauren said to her sister. Kaitlyn said nothing, watching the boy limp off in pity.
