They could not be altered or covered by normal tattooing, the guild had the ability to remove a mark when slaves changed ownership and finally if a **** they had branded was reported stolen or escaped they could perform a ritual that would cause the brand to glow brightly. The Akkadian himself had no previous brand, Minaja having been a whore of the guild previously.

More mundane tasks were assigned to the remaining slaves such as cleaning the harem or washing and styling of one another's hair. Those slaves set to their tasks leaving the three chosen as rewards and the group to be taken to the slavers guild. Rezma had come prepared to the harem the Akkadian saw as she uncoiled sets of thin chain fastened to her leather belt. The individual lengths of chain looked to be slightly longer than an arm's length.
