Lux studies the mechanism carefully. Try as she might, she can make no sense of what she’s seeing. She tinkers with a few moveable parts, but before long she has to admit defeat.

Then, with a series of clicks and a deep hissing sound, the door unlatches itself and slides open. Raising her stolen sword hurriedly, Lux is startled to find herself face-to-face with a grey-haired older woman dressed in strange, light orange clothes, who looks her up and down with an air of scepticism.

“Well,” the stranger snaps, “don’t just stand there drooling on yourself. Get in here.”
