The hollow lives

Despite fusing together with Kaien before Rukia defeated Metastasia, only the hollow itself survived.

There was nothing left of Kaien and the hollow was only a mini version of what it once was.

After being locked away in a storage room for some time it had awoken after feeling an intense spiritual pressure.

It seems someone powerful had shown up in the soul society causing the forgotten hollow to react.
