Chapter 3 by techtactic techtactic

Whats that smell? Ignore it?

The goddess investigates.

“How wonderful!” the goddess exclaimed with a dainty clap of her hands on finding the source of the enticing scent. A large plant rose before her, nestled snugly between the trunks of two larger trees. It was fairly large; exceeding the height of its neighbours lowest branches, yet seemed of perfect size for Myria to inhale its fragrance without bending over overtly. Not that she would mind, for that would give any observer a view of her perfectly formed rear, the object of many a mortal and divine’s dreams. The plants trunk was strangely bulbous for such a piece of foliage – like a flower closed against the winter cold – though the topmost petal were parted hinting at a dazzling array of yellows and reds on their inside. It was from this narrow gap that the intoxicating aroma sprang from.

Myria approached the plant fearlessly. After all, what on this world would dare, nay, could possibly harm her? As she drew closer she found the ground oddly uneven due to what she now understood to be the plants rather extensive root system.

“I’ve never seen a plant like this before,” she remarked, inhaling the rich perfume greedily, even so far as to fan it towards her face with her delicate hands. “I must talk to Arborus about making me a perfume of this when I return. I’m sure he will be happy to.” She breathed even deeper, the thought of the god of plants giving the scent wafting to her an oddly erotic turn. With a giggle she arrived before the parted petals and leaned nearly directly into the flower. With eyes closed in ecstasy of her other senses, she inhaled deeply.

Is the plant all that it appears?
